TAPSCAN requires that Pop-Up blockers be turned off. The first time you login to TAPSCAN using Chrome, you should get a warning message at the top of the browser bar requesting if you want to allow pop-ups for the TAPSCAN site. If you ignore this message, TAPSCAN may not open on future attempts. Follow the instructions here to allow pop-ups.

TO ALLOW ALL SITES TO USE POP UPS: Select Allow all sites to show pop-ups. This will leave pop-ups enabled for all browsing in Chrome.

TO MANAGE SITES YOU ALLOW POP UPS: Select Do Not Allow all sites to show pop-ups. Then Click Manage exceptions. Enter the URL paths below for Pop-Up Exceptions.

Google Chrome will download files to a common file folder unless you change the settings.

GOOGLE CHROME Changing where files download

In upper right corner of browser, click the black lines icon. Then select, Settings > Show Advanced settings.

Go To Downloads Section and 1. Select change and designate a folder for all downloads from Google Chrome OR 2. Check the Ask where to save each file before downloading to get a file folder save

prompt in Chrome for all downloads.

Every so often you should clear your browser history to maintain performance. Sometimes this is necessary after a new TAPSCAN release.

INTERNET EXPLORER Turn ON Compatibility View for Nielsen Answers Portal

Follow the instructions here to set compatibility view for the Nielsen Answers Portal. You only need to do this one time. This mode has been disabled for TAPSCAN. It will be turned off automatically when you open TAPSCAN.

Nielsen Answers portal is not yet updated for IE 10 or IE 11. You may see a blank screen or dropdown lists that do not display fully.

Nielsen Answers will be supporting IE 10 and IE 11 without this setting later in 2014.

nielsen.com will be listed as below. Uncheck Display all websites in Compatibility View. Click Add. Then click Close.

From IE Browser: Go to Bottom Right Corner of screen and click on zoom selector. Make sure it is set to 100%

INTERNET EXPLORER Set Browser Zoom to 100%

Or Click View from top menu in IE. Select Zoom > Set to 100%

What this fixes… Things not fitting on page. Schedule Grid locking up.

Or Click Ctrl + 0 to reset browser zoom to 100%.

On the Delete Browsing History Screen: Uncheck Preserve Favorites website data! Check the following boxes: • Temporary Internet files and website files • Cookies and website data • History • Download History • ActiveX Filtering and Tracking Protection You can uncheck Form data and Passwords to keep your saved passwords intact. Then click the Delete Button.
