Day 1: Ole Sereni Hotel, Nairobi (Fri, 17 March)

Day Itinerary

Check in for your Emirates flight 3 hours before departure. Upon arrival in Dubai, change aircraft and fly to Nairobi.

Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel located close to the airport overlooking Nairobi National

Park. Evening at leisure.

Nairobi

Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place and although it has developed a reputation

which keeps tourist visits brief there are some fascinating attractions: its café culture, unbridled nightlife, the

National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum and most notably just 20 minutes from the city centre wild lions and

buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve.

Overnight: Ole Sereni Hotel

Located just off Mombasa road Ole-Sereni is the only hotel bordering a National Game Park. The title of the hotel is

taken from the Maasai name for the area meaning 'place of tranquillity'. Ole-Sereni captures the essence of Nairobi,

which is the only city in the world that boasts a natural game park within its precincts. The hotel offers its guests

views of animals in their natural surroundings at the waterhole in the park from the restaurants, bar, swimming pool

and other parts of the hotel.

As 'The City Hotel by the Game Park' Ole-Sereni combines the best features of a modern City Hotel and a traditional

wildlife lodge where guests can enjoy nature's tranquillity from a very close range. Ole-Sereni is strategically

positioned close to the Airport and the city centre, offering world-class facilities and personalized services to

business as well as leisure travellers. The hotel also enjoys proximity to the central business district, international

organizations, financial institutions, government offices and the industrial areas of Nairobi.

Tanzania

The name Tanzania conjures up images of wildebeest stampeding across vast savannah, rain forests teeming with

monkeys and birdlife, and great plains brimming with legions of game. All of these natural wonders and more are on

offer in this exceptionally diverse African nation. Visitors typically visit Tanzania to partake in at least one of the four

well known Tanzanian tourist experiences: a relaxing seaside vacation on the picturesque island paradise of Zanzibar,

an underwater tour of some of the world’s most renowned dive sites around the gorgeous Spice Islands, a safari

adventure in some of Africa’s most impressive game reserves, or a hiking excursion around Mount Kilimanjaro

National Park. Whichever of these incredible holidays you choose, you will undoubtedly be welcomed by some

fabulously friendly and peaceful inhabitants who, despite being divided into 120 different ethnic groups and

cultures, live in harmony with one another and provide some of the most wonderfully exotic local cuisine you could

imagine. With all of this diversity on offer, the most difficult part of your Tanzanian holiday experience is likely to be

deciding where to go!

Arusha

Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania located at the foot of Mt. Meru, close to Mount Kilimanjaro, the Manyara,

Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. From there it’s only a short trip to the Serengeti. Just to the north, on the

slopes of Mt. Meru is the Arusha National Park.

Built by the Germans as a centre of colonial administration because of the temperate climate, Arusha is a good spot

to take a day or two off from your safari.

Overnight: Arusha Coffee Lodge View iBrochure

Located in the middle of a verdant coffee plantation, Arusha Coffee Lodge is a sanctuary of aromatic tranquility and

a welcome retreat after a long international flight, or the dust and excitement of a thrilling bush safari.

Take residence in one of 30 luxury wooden chalets - 12 Plantation Suites and 18 Plantation Rooms - nestled amongst

the surrounding gardens and sea of coffee trees.

Turning off the road, a tree-lined drive guides you to the warm and inviting main area with its quiet understated aura

of luxury. Vibrant gardens, a spa, and a swimming pool await, and a restaurant, Bacchus, and café bistro, 3° South,

boast menus to satisfy the most discerning of palates, successfully fusing international culinary prowess with locally-

sourced ingredients.

Visitors are also welcome to enjoy convenient gift shopping at the Traders Walk Boutiques, located on site. Browse

through a collection of five boutiques offering arts and crafts, jewellery, clothing, gourmet coffee and cakes and

traditional Swahili food.

Lake Manyara National Park

With the Lake on its east and the Manyara Escarpment to its west the Lake Manyara National Park offers

breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats. Acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-

streaked hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. And thanks to this the small Park is able to support a large number

of animal species and incredible bird life. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world

and the lions here are also renowned for their tree climbing.

Overnight: Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge

Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge is nestled on the rim of the Great African Rift Valley with stunning views of Lake

Manyara, Mount Meru and on a clear day, Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge is situated in lush green gardens and local

vegetation with over 130 species of bird. It offers an ideal place in which to base a northern safari experience. The

Ngorongoro Crater, Oldeani, Lake Eyasi, Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Highlands are just a short drive away

from the lodge. Sitting around the outside fireplace watching the sun setting over the Great Rift Valley and listening

to the humming of the birds in the background is a fitting way to end the day, and preparing for a sumptuous dinner

feast.

Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater is game viewing gone crazy and it is not surprising that with is one of Tanzania’s major tourist

drawcards. Within the crater rim a daily wildlife drama is played out as large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze

nearby lions, leopards, elephants and black rhinos. Outside of the crater a similar drama continues in a more spread

out manner with Masai herdsmen thrown into the mix.

Day 6: Ole Serai Luxury Camp - Serengeti (Wed, 22 March)

Day Itinerary

A full day in the famous Serengeti National Park with game drives and site inspections.

Activities

Central Serengeti

Central Serengeti

The Serengeti together with Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park form Africa’s most famous wildlife park. The image of

acacia trees on an endless grass plain epitomises Africa for many, and then add a Masai warrior and some cattle to

the picture and the conversation need go no further.

The annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Masai Mara is the largest mass movement of land

mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. But that is not where the game

viewing ends; large prides of lions, elephants and giraffes in grasslands, gazelles and eland to mention but a few.

Aside from traditional vehicle safaris, hot-air ballooning over the Serengeti plains has become almost essential and

you can even do a horseback safari.
