Governor of Lemhannas RI Lt. Gen. (Ret) opened the animal
slaughtering event on Thursday (23/8) to celebrate Idul Adha
on Wednesday (22/8).
In his remark, Agus Widjojo stated that Idul Adha is an
historical day for human beings since at that time Prophet Ibrahim, Siti
Hajar, and Prophet Ismail has been given a fundamental exemplary such as
the haj and animal slaughtering.
The event, Agus Widjojo explained, remind moslems to follow what
had been done by prophet Ibrahim Alaihissalam who sacrifice only for God.
“To obey God’s command, Prophet Ismail sacrifice his soul and body as
a form his obedience to his parent (Prophet Ibrahim Alaihissalam) and also
to God,’ Agus Widjojo explained.
From tha event, moslem are expected to make slaughtering as strong
form of faith and sincerely to sacrifice which is signed by conducting animal
slaughtering.
With a theme “Through Celebration of Idul Adha, We Strengthen our
Solidarity as an Implementation of our Faith”, contained the meaning of
animal slaughtering where the faith triggers moslems to distribute meat in
small portions as a symbol of strengthen solidarity among diversity in the
society.
In the end of his remark, Agus Widjojo said Happy Idul Adha 1439 H /
2018 M.” Happy Idul Adha 1439 H / 2018 M and I hope the animal slaughtering
and for moslems who are doing the haj run well and come back to Indonesia
safely,” Agus Widjojo said.
The event was then continued with animal slaughtering and delivery of
small portions of the meat to the society.

In August 23 and 24, 2018, PPRA (Regular Education
Program Batch) 57 participants reported the result of
SSLN (Overseas Studies) to Poland, Hungary, Romania,
and Turkey which was conducted from August 13 to
August 16, 2018.
SSLN itself is a major activity in education program
which aims to enrich the participants knowledge in
making policy in the future. SSLN means to equip the
PPR participants about the real condition of a country
visited so they can have comprehensive and integral
way of thinking and identify strategic issues to be used
as a consideration in arranging strategic conception for
national interest.
In conducting SSLN in each country, PPRA 57
participants who were divided into four groups, visited
The Indonesian Embassy in each country, Government
institutions, Tourism Center and several strategic industry
to get a complete portrait of the country visited in

Participants reports its SSLN result
countries get an intensive support which is shown by the amount
of visitation between both countries. One of several cooperation
agreement between Turkey and Indonesia is IT-CEPA agreement
which involve Turkey and Indonesia. Both countries focus on five
major aspects such as electrical energy, trade, aerospace, defense
industry, and counter-terrorism.
The last, the relationship between Poland and indonesia has
gone well since 1955 without any significant problem and obstacle
and it tends to increase. Poland said that Indonesia has important role
and influence in international order especially in ASEAN and huge
organizations like United Nations, G-20, and APEC.
Poland and Indonesia are both democratic countries located
in in world power intersection. Poland as a democracy pioneer in
East Europe can be a potential partner for Indonesia in developing
democratic values. In developing democracy, both countries have
credential as democratic pioneer in their own region, Poland in East
Europe and Indonesia in ASEAN.

Based on the SSLN report, Indonesia need to strengthen and
boost cooperation in various aspects with those four countries
visited. Like Hungary which is located in the heart of Europe is famous
as the biggest electronic product importer so it becomes the most
influential market in Middle and East Europe. Therefore, Indonesia
need to build its relationship with those European countries with
strongest market to strengthen cooperation.
Meanwhile romania, whose economy is now increasing, has
a chance to cooperate with Indonesia in various aspects related to
demography, geography, and natural resources and also the increase
of productive age which is called as “demography bonus”. Besides,
Romania which is also a world trade partner along with Indonesia,
are interested in improving cooperation in tourism aspect and
in strengthening diplomatic role related to politic, economy, and
defense industry.
In the other hand, the bilateral relationship between Turkey and
Indonesia over the last few years has an excellent prospect which is
shown from each country’s role in the region. The relationship of both

Ph.D. gave lecture to Commissioned Officer who are students in the
Military’s Staff and Command School (Sesko TNI), the National Police
Command and Staff Academy (Sespimti Polri), the National Police
Junior Staff School (Sespimmen Polri) in “Pekan Kegiatan Bersama
Kejuangan (PKB Juang) tahun 2018” event in Soedirman Excecutive
Grand Ballroom, Sesko TNI, Bandung, Jawa Barat (25/8).
“Coordination and Cooperation of functional partnership among
different institutions can only be done if every party understand
each special duties and functions,” Agus Widjojo said in front of 1.137
participants in the lecture entitled ‘The Implementation of Sinergy
and Solidarity between Military and Police to Secure 2019 Presidential
Election stages in the context of National Development’.
According to the 1945 Constitution Article 30, which re-stated by
Agus Widjojo, mentioned that TNI, consisting of the Army, Navy and
Air Force, as an instrument of the state has the duty to defend, protect,
and maintain the integrity and sovereignty of the state. Meanwhile
POLRI is an instrument of the state that maintains public order and
security, has the duty to protect, guard, and serve the people, and to
uphold the law.

During the lecture, Agus Widjojo stated that those constitutional
role and authorities absolute as its written in The 1945 Constitution.
In implementing sinergy and solidarity between TNI/Polri to
secure 2019 Presidential Election Stages, Agus Widjojo said that
each party must be aware of their authority where regional heads
responsible for the region’s security and additional legal instruments
related to TNI assistance requests.
Agus Widjojo also stated that TNI involvement outside its
defense functions have to refer to the determining oof TNI role and
authority as the mandate of the constitution and the involvement of
the TNI in the operational tasks of the TNI carried out based on the
government’s political decision.
In the end of the lecture, Agus Widjojo conveyed the additional
instrument such as law of TNI authority escalation and determination
and political authorities transition in various level of emergency, and
also law of TNI assistance operation to civilian authority in peacetime.

The Children of Revulotionary Heros “Rendezvous with History”
Governor of Lemhannas RI Lt. Gen. (Ret) Agus Widjojo
officially opened Lemhannas’ Communication Forum
on Friday (31/8) in Konstitusi Room, Trigatra Building,
Lemhannas RI.
This forum raised a theme “G 30 S/PKI in the perspective of
Revolutionary Heroes’ Children (rendezvous with History). Other than
inviting Editor-in-Chiefs, this forum especially invited the children of
Revolutionary Heroes.
Agus Widjojo who are one of Revolutionary heroes’ Children,
Maj. Gen. Sutojo Siswomihardjo said that this event is important
because it strengthen the bond between the children of the
Revolutionary Heroes and it also becomes the place to build the same
perception and become a momentum to awaken mutual awareness
to strengthen nationalism and unity in nation and state life.
In this forum, the children of the Revolutionary Heroes gave their
testimonial about the incident in September 30, 1965 done by PKI
(Indonesia Communist Party). However, Agus said, this forum does not
talk about the incident from political aspect but human interest and
psychological side felt by the children of the Revolutionary Heroes.
Agus Widjojo hoped, the presence of the mass media can bring up
the G 30 S/PKI incident more on human interest point of view.
Agus Widjojo also conveyed that the traumatic feeling caused by
the incident is different among the children and so is the traumatic
feeling between son and daughter.
Meanwhile Anhar Gonggong said that from historical aspect, PKI
betrayal is violation of agreement on the life of the nation and state
agreed upon since the proclamation of independence in 1945.
Meanwhile one of the PPRA (Regular Education Program Batch)
57 who are also a Psychologist, Arijani Lasmawati, M.Psi. conveyed
that traumatic feeling perceived by the children of Revolutionary
Heroes is called PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) where the
mental condition experienced panic attack caused by traumatic
incident in the past.
Arijani said that this forum is the right place to restore traumatic
mental conditions. Arijani said there were three stages to restore
trauma, namely stabilization, sharing stories, and building trust in the
trauma sufferer.
Also attended the forum were Structural and Functional Officials
of Lemhannas RI, IKAL Boards, Perista’s Chairwoman and Board,
Representatives of PPRA 57 and 58 participants.

PPRA (Regular Education Program Batch) 58 Participants who
are divided into four groups to conduct Domestic Strategic
Studies (SSDN) to four provinces namely West Sumatera,
Bengkulu, Gorontalo, and North Sulawesi on August 27 to
August 30, 2018.
SSDN itself is a learning method by direct observation to regions
(Province and City/regency) and visiting Government institution,
Public Figure, other stakeholders and also famous product or object
from the regions visited.
The direct observation aim’s to obtain region condition portrait
related to ideology, economy, politic, Socio-cultural, and defense and
security in national resilience perspective. Besides, the participants
to measure national resilience index validation from each province
visited
During the four days of SSDN implementation, all participants
visited Provincial Government, one of cities/ districts government,
Military base, Police Headquarters, local Universities and several
strategic object which constituted the national potential and assets
for the region’s development process.
Indonesian Medical Student Senate Association (ISMKI) visited
Lemhannas RI to pay audiency on Monday (3/9) and was welcomed
by Governor of Lemhannas RI Lt. Gen. (Ret) Agus Widjojo in
Executive Guest Room, Trigatra Building, Lemhannas RI.
During the visit, Secretary General of ISMKI, Irfandinata, explained
that ISMKI was established since 1981. Irfandinata then explained that
ISMKI binds the executive board of medical students and there are
currently 81 Executive Board of Medical Students joining from all
over Indonesia. ISMKI, Irfandinata explained, has a lot of work in the
fields of community service, advocacy, professional education and
leadership development. These fields are related to students.
ISMKI is currently divided into four regions, namely region
1 which consist of Sumatra Island, region 2 which consists of DKI
(Special Capital Region) Jakarta and West Kalimantan, region 3 which
consist of Central Java and parts of Kalimantan Island, and region 4
which covers East Java to Papua.
Related to leadership training for its members, Irfan dinata said
that leadership training has been done in each regions and alo in
national level.
SSDN PPRA 58 Program visit four Provinces

“Every year ISMKI conducts national leadership training. “In 2016,
we held (national leadership training) at Airlangga University and in
2017, we held it at Jenderal Sudirman University and in 2018, we will
held at the University of Bengkulu,” Irfandinata explained.
Related to the the upcoming training, Irfandinata ask for inputs
about leadership current issues in young generations recently. The
Audiency was then continued with discussion related to leadership
issues.
Through this SSDN, the participants can contribute their thought
on how to understand and respond politic dynamic situation and
condition in every regions visited.

Governor of Lemhannas RI build up state defense awareness of STIE Bisnis Indonesia New Students
Governor of Lemhannas RI Lt. Gen. (Ret) Agus Widjojo
became a speaker in National Seminar “Building National
Values to Form Character of Young Generation” held by
Student Executive Board (BEM) of Institute of Economic
Science (STIE) Bisnis Indonesia on Sunday (9/9) in Robinson Villa,
Cisarua, Bogor, West Java.
According to First Vice Chairman of STIE Bisnis Indonesia, Sutardi,
S.E., M.M., said that the implementation of the seminar aims to foster
awareness of state defense in campus introduction program for new
students and also to support mental revolution program planned by
the government.
In the beginning of his presentation, Agus Widjojo talked about
Indonesia’s strategic position which is in the middle of two continents
and two oceans. Besides, Indonesia is an archipelagic state and each
of its island is connected by oceans and seas shows the huge potential
and diversity of natural resources.
Agus Widjojo also explained about four national basic
consensuses which becomes this nation’s instruments to achieve
national goals such as to improve public welfare and to educate
the life of the people. Agus Widjojo also talked about archipelagic
outlook and national resilience as a doctrine in the implementation
of the four consensuses.
By looking at the current condition and the upcoming
demography bonus in the next 2 decades, Indonesia faces various
challenges especially young generation such as globalisation
influence, nation’s character development and Industrial revolution
4.0.
Related to demography bonus, Agus Widjojo said that if this
demography bonus should be utilized, Indonesia can probaly will be
one of the 5 largest economic countries in the next 2030 to 2050.
Agus Widjojo also briefly talked about the history of the
independence movement and struggle in 1908 by Boedi Oetomo,
in 1928 with the Youth Congress and then the Proclamation of
Independence in 1945. According to Agus Widjojo, the three
momentum of independence movement and struggle originated
from young intellectuals.
Regarding young generation, Agus Widjojo also showed some
of the achievements of young generation in this case Indonesian
students, both at national and international levels, such as robot
contests in the United States, International Physiology Olympiad,
International biotechnology competition and exhibition in Malaysia
and International Conference on Technology and Social Science 2018
in Japan.
Besides, related to the Asian Games that had just finished, Agus
Widjojo conveyed the number of students who were outstanding as
athletes and win medals. In addition, there are also 15,000 volunteers
from youth to help make the Asian Games successful.
Closing his presentation, Agus Widjojo advised the Seminar
participants. “Be grateful and take advantage of opportunities for
higher education, investing yourself in learning so that it can provide
concrete contributions to the community, develop self-character as
added value, carry out the role of a citizen well, be a role model in
society and be a stronghold of negative values and influences that
can damage yourself and society. “

Dr. Steven Barraclough, Minister of Economic Counselors
for Economic, Investment and Infrastructure of the
Australian Embassy for Indonesia gave a general lecture
to the participants of PPRA 57 and 58 on 10 September
2018 at Gajah Mada Room, Lemhannas RI Pancagatra Building,
Jakarta.
Presenting the material titled “What’s with the Australia-Indonesia
Economic Partnership”, Barraclough explain the collaboration
between Indonesia and Australia in the framework of Indonesia
Australia - Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-
CEPA) signed by the leaders of the two countries on August 31 2018
Bogor Palace, West Java.
“The old paradigm has changed, and is now known as the
Indo Pacific concept, where Asia is the center. We witness the most
fundamental changes in the global economy in 200 years. Our region
(Australia), the Indo-Pacific, is now the cornerstone of the global
economy. At the same time, unprecedented technological changes
create new opportunities and present unique risks,” Barraclough said,
quoting Scott Morrison, Australian PM.
Indonesia is Australia’s 13th largest trading partner with a total
two-way trade worth nearly 16.5 billion AUD in 2017. Indonesia’s

human resources for the Work Unit Application System.

Directorate of Information Systems and Treasury Technology of
the Directorate General of Treasury of the Ministry of Finance Agus
Santoso and Bambang Sugiharto.

opening of Australian university campuses in Jakarta, as well as
businesses, major producers, service providers and investors.
20 participants consist of representatives and financial operators of
the work unit, will practice how to operate the application and be
given a simulation of problems that they may encountered while
using the application.
At the end of his speech, Andi Tjarwandi said that through these
activities it is hoped that in Financial Year of 2019 the PPK could carry
out the recording and issuance of Payment Request Letter (SPP) and
supervise the implementation of the budget in each work unit using
the SAS application in accordance with applicable regulations.

As one of the series of Making Indonesia 4.0 events,
Lemhannas RI holds a Training of Trainers at Constitution
Room Trigatra Building, Lemhannas RI. The event, hosted
by Governor of Lemhannas RI, Lt. Gen. (ret) Agus Widjojo,
was held for three days from 12 to 14 September 2018 and was
attended by echelon II representatives from various ministries and
institutions.
In the opening, Agus Widjojo stated that the Training of
Trainers program was an advanced program of strengthening the
capacity of Indonesian leaders. The program aims to provide a
further understanding of U-Theory as a framework in designing
and providing innovative transformation processes at the level of
individuals and organizations.
Agus Widjojo explained that the target outcome of the innovative
transformation process included strengthening intelligence of
thinking comprehensively, holistically, and integrally, strengthening
technical expertise that is able to offer innovations in the creation
of sectoral learning systems and laboratories, and strengthening
emotional intelligence in transforming various experiences and
learning tools to improve the quality of learning.
In addition, Agus Widjojo also said that the Training of Trainers
participants were provided with an Indonesian leader capacity
building program in the form of a system thinking so that participants
could understand the structure of systemic problems, the different

concepts of linear thinking and communicate systemic challenges
effectively.
The participants, said Agus Widjojo, are also expected to be able
to recognize systemic problems through a lab system thinking, see
the overall problem and understand the different perspectives and
identify the leverage points in making strategic decisions. At the next
stage, the participants are expected to be able to practice listening
skills through the process of creative collective dialogue in a Cafe
Dialogue concept.
At the end of his speech, Agus Widjojo hoped this program could
achieve the desired outcome. “I hope this Training of Trainers can run
smoothly and achieve the desired outcome. Therefore, persistence
and cooperation is needed,” Agus Widjojo stated.

Lecture for PPRA 57 Participants Wives/Husbands
PPRA 57 holds National Seminar
LLemhannas RI held a Lecture for PPRA (Regular
Education Program Batch) 57 from September 10 to
September 18, 2018.
Deputy of National-Level Leader Education Maj.
Gen. Karsiyanto in his report said that the wives/husbands
training was attended by 95 participants consist of 88
wives and 7 husbands of PPRA 57 participants. This lecture,
Karsiyanto explained, aims to equip and strengthen the role
of the wives / husbands in assisting national level cadres, to
increase ethics knowledge for wives and husbands who can be
role models for the extended family, work environment, and
society, and also to strengthen the relationship among fellow
wives / husbands participating in the PPRA 57 and also with
Lemhannas.
In his remarks, Agus Widjojo said that the Indonesia’s
current situation illustrates the tendency of global cultural
influences and political dynamics that affect the aspects in
the society. This, Agus Widjojo explained, will affect the spirit
of nationality, family relationship that is full of tolerance and
togetherness.
The tendency needs to be addressed wisely. Agus Widjojo
added that the existence of a national understanding that
prioritizes national unity is needed.
Therefore, through this lecture, the wives/husbands as
partners of national leaders cadres are expected to be able to
understand more deeply regarding the meaning of national
morality and ethics which can then be implemented in their
mindset, and attitude in daily life.
“The of this lecture is to prepare the wives / husbands
in helping their partner in the official relationship and in the
social life,” Agus Widjojo said.
PPRA 57 held a National Seminar on “Structuring Political
Parties to Strengthen the Presidential Administration
System in Indonesia” in Dwi Warna Purwa Room,
Lemhannas RI, Jakarta (13/9).
The seminar presented Minister of Home Affair Thjahjo Kumolo
as keynote speaker, Academician Prof. Dr. Jimly Asshiddique, S.H.,
with a responder from Airlangga University Prof. Drs. Ramlan
Surbakti, M.A., Ph.D., member of Commission II of the House of
Representatives Zainudin Amali, S.E., and as an responder from LIPI
Prof. Dr. Syamsudin Haris, M.Sc., Special Committee for Political Law
Dr. Ir. Muhammad Lukman Edy, M.Sc., Professor of IPDN Prof. Dr.
Djohermansyah Johan, M.A., and Editor in Chief of Kompas Budiman
Tanuredjo.
On the occasion, Governor of Lemhannas RI, Lt. Gen. (Ret)
Agus Widjojo said that the participants’ success in organizing
seminars was essentially an indicator of participants in absorbing
and understanding various materials while attending the education
program at Lemhannas RI.
“the participants have given their best in this strategic
seminar by using their holistic, integral, and comprehensive way
of thinking especially in structuring political parties to strengthen
the presidential administration system in Indonesia,” Governor of
Lemhannas said in front of then participants
Agus Widjojo then stated that based on the results of the
seminar that had been formulated, it could be concluded that the
arrangement of political parties and the presidential government
system in Indonesia had not shown optimal strengthening.
On the occasion, Tjahjo Kumolo conveyed, there were three
key successes for Regional Election namely political participation
from the society, rejected money politics (no money politics), and
campaign of ideas and work programs. “Election participants are
expected to not raising issues related to ethnicity, religion, race,
hoaxes, or those related to spreading hatred,” Tjahjo said.

officially closed the Regular Education Program (PPRA)
57 Lemhannas RI, on Thursday (20/9), in the Dwi Warna
Purwa Room, Lemhannas RI.
In his remarks, Agus Widjojo congratulated the success of PPRA
57 participants for enrolling seven months of education. “Allow all
levels of Lemhannas RI to share the happiness felt by the entire family
of PPRA 57 alumni, and congratulated the alumni for their successful
completion of their learning assignments in PPRA 57. The PPRA 57
participants now legitimately leave the participant title and replace it
with Lemhannas RI alumni. “
Agus Widjojo also expressed his appreciation to all 57 PPRA
participants who have shown their dedication, patience, sincerity,
perseverance, and commitment during the education program.
With the end of PPRA 57 which was attended by 100 participants
from the Military, Police, Bureaucrats, Political Parties, Academicians,
Mass Organization and various other components of society, Agus
Widjojo placed great hope on all participants who now hold PPRA
57 alumni to be able to implement all knowledge and insight gained
during education program through holistic, comprehensive, integral
and systemic understanding and way of thinking.
According to Agus Widjojo, the end of education should be
a “commencement day” which means the beginning of devotion,
compared to “graduation” which is often interpreted as the end
of the education period. Agus Widjojo added that the meaning
“commencement” is to be oriented towards devotion in the future
which is operationally effective, therefore the period of education is
the investment period in preparation for devotion.
Closing his remarks, Agus Widjojo reminded and emphasize
a number of things. First, PPRA 57 alumni who are national-level
leadership cadres must be able to become a role model, for the

community with a consistent mindset and in line with the national
basic consensus consisting of Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the
Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika
(Unity in Diversity).
Second, increasing sensitivity and concern for social conditions
development in their respective environments while remaining
guided by the six core study areas of the Lemhannas RI. Third, ahead
of the political year, the 2019 legislative and presidential elections,
the alumni are expected to continue to increase their concern for
the development of national living conditions, be responsive to
developments on a national, regional and global scale. And Fourth,
keep the good name of the alma mater, because the pride of the alma
mater lies only in the alumni’s work for nation and state.
The closing ceremony of PPRA 57 also presented the Former
Bojonegoro Regent, Dr. H. Suyiti, M.Sc. to give a speech and Mustafa
Abu Bakar as Deputy Chairperson of IKAL for receiving PPRA 57
alumni into IKAL.
Also presented at the closing ceremony of PPRA 57 were two
Former Governors of Lemhannas RI Prof. Dr. Drs. Ermaya Suradinata,
S.H., M.H., M.S., and Prof. Dr. Ir Budi Susilo Soepandji, D.E.A .. In
addition, there were also representatives from various ministries /
institutions, participants institution, structural and functional officials
of Lemhannas RI
