Tangram 3DS LLC, located in Kittery, Maine, and

Vienna, Austria, is an internationally recognized com-

puter graphics, 3D visualization and animation studio

that specializes in providing its clients with customized

multimedia solutions for their design visualization, pre-

Principal and Managing Director

Owner and Founder of Tangram 3DS LLC

Stefan Vittori, owner and founder of Tangram 3DS LLC, has earned his reputation as a visual-

ization specialist and business leader with more than 20 years of experience in the field of 3D

architectural visualization and animation. His work has appeared in top industry magazines, books,

on TV and in online galleries. He has taken first and third place in the 3D “animago” competition

in Germany, placed among the finalists at the 3D festival in Copenhagen, Denmark, and led

seminars and presentations at Build Boston, the largest convention for the building and design

industry on the East Coast. As Tangram’s managing director, Stefan heads all project phases,

from marketing through setup, execution, and production. He is also responsible for training

design staff, updating technology, scheduling, overseeing project execution and client relations.

Jared began his career in architectural visualization as an intern at Tangram 3DS, while still at-

tending Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, where he later graduated at the top of his

major with a BS in Electronic Game and Interactive Design: Art and Animation. Combining his

passion for photography and video, Jared has honed his skills and progressed from the role of

lead 3D modeler to that of senior visualizer and project manager at Tangram. With his enthusi-

asm and great communication skills, he makes sure that every project exceeds all of our clients’

expectations.

Verena Vittori

Director of Business Development Europe, Interior Designer

As office and project manager for the Tangram 3DS branch in Vienna, Verena oversees Tan-

gram business activity in Europe. With a degree in architecture from the Technical University

in Vienna, Verena has worked for several architectural and design studios. Her experience and

skill in design and planning also make Verena well-suited to handling Tangram’s interior design

tasks. In addition, she is responsible for executing regional marketing in central Europe. With

her professional background and clear understanding of market needs, she is a perfect contact

Alfonso Lopez

Design Principal

Alfonso Lopez is an architect and designer who has worked on a wide range of projects varying

in scale, program, and design concept. He has collaborated with architects including Rogelio

Salmona in Bogota, Colombia; Enric Miralles in Barcelona, Spain; and Carlos Zapata in Boston,

Mass., USA. Alfonso holds a Bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Pontificia Universidad

Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, and a Master of Sciences degree in advanced architectural

design from Columbia University in New York City. He brings his design passion and expertise

to Tangram 3DS, further enhancing the team’s ability to develop the concept and goals of each

project while allowing clients to participate interactively in the design, modeling, and visualiza-

tion process.

Virtual Staging

Virtual Staging is already a widely popular tool because it gives customers a feel for a designed

space, without the cost of having to set up a real show room, apartment or office. In fact,

virtual staging is cost-effective even in comparison to other virtual presentation options, Because

collage-based elements can be utilized in virtual staging, there is no need to model every single

object in a room, as is the case with true 3D visualization. As a result, the virtual staging process

is much less work-intensive and therefore less costly while still providing a realistic image, but at

a much more favorable price point. This tool was specially created for the real estate market to

provide a reasonably priced alternative to full-blown 3D visualization when showing customers

Augmented Reality & Virtual Staging

Augmented Reality, or extended reality, is a new way of interacting with technology. Using this

tool, virtually designed objects that are only visible through a smartphone or video camera, for

example, can be “placed” into real space. In the fields of architecture and design, this applica-

tion can be used to position virtually produced objects in an existing space to determine their

potential impact on the surroundings.

The Virtual Staging tool was specially created for the real estate market to provide a reason-

Projectdescription

Completed in 2009, Equity Residential’s West End Development brings new vitality to a Boston

neighborhood and an expanded range of housing and office options to city dwellers who choose

to make this once bleak urban district their home. Designed by the widely recognized firm Elkus/

Manfredi Architects, the new development consists of five buildings, creating a campus setting

on 5.25 acres. The project also provides for a significantly larger and improved landscaped set-

ting designed by the award-winning landscape architecture firm of Carol R. Johnson Associates.

Projectdescription

“A SUSTAINABLE VERTICAL NEIGHBORHOOD PROPOSAL”

A vertical neighborhood, this 950-foot-tall tower was conceived by solus4 architects and plan-

ners, using design principles of the Sustainable Neighborhood Collaborative Initiative (SNCI).

Each of the fifty 3,000-square-foot apartments occupies one entire floor of the tower, which

gets its distinctive shape from the structure of its energy systems. The building’s exterior glaz-

ing forms one of the tallest proposed hybrid double-glazed skins. While the main purpose of the

double skin is to enhance the thermal barrier, an interesting added benefit will be the chimney

effect created at the external surface. Strategically placed mini-turbines take advantage of the

vertical air movement to generate supplementary power.

Balconies at each floor provide exterior space for residents while

adding a variable shading screen to further control glare and heat gain.

The 950-foot-tall blade mast is cantilevered off the concrete frame.

Its entire outside surface, as well as certain portions of the exterior

glazing, is covered with transparent thin-fi lm photovoltaic panels

projected to provide, in combination with other passive and active

sustainable systems, the majority of the power requirement for the

building. Keeping to the SNCI principles for energy-saving strate-

gies, the building will have no parking except for several all-electric

vehicles garaged on-site and owned and operated by the common

ownership of the residences.

The balconies, in addition to providing living space and shading,

also act as rainwater collectors, adding to the greywater recycling

system. Along with fully integrated energy management systems,

each apartment will have its own mini-plant. The street-level base of

the tower will include a multi-level common social space including

neighborhood retail and food outlets, a mini-produce market, terraced

cafes, recreation space, a gym, a swimming area, museum/gallery

space and office/studio space for residents, placing the owners in

the forefront of low-impact and sustainable communities.

luxury apartment homes feature granite countertops, washers and dryers, spacious living areas

and outstanding courtyard views. Residents have access to a heated indoor swimming pool,

24-hour concierge service, a 2,200-square foot fitness center, a media room, a resident lounge

with bar, an underground parking garage and a conference room.

Project description

Built by Equity Residential, 160 Redmond in Washington State consists of two six-story mixed-

use buildings with 250 residential units and 12,200 square feet of retail space. The buildings

offer luxury amenities, including a lounge and billiards room, fitness center, internet café, and

immaculately landscaped elevated courtyards. The penthouse units, which Tangram rendered,

feature soaring 13’ ceilings and high windows, with breathtaking views of evergreen forests. The

expansive interior spaces combined with boldly modern interior design to make this a standout

project for the Tangram team.

A newly constructed five-story building with panoramic views of downtown, the Piscataqua

River bridges, and Portsmouth’s vibrant West Side neighborhood, 55 Islington is a high-profile

residential development located just steps from charming Market Square in picturesque Ports-

mouth, New Hampshire.

Tangram 3DS worked with Olde Port Properties and their designers, SOMMA Studios of Ports-

mouth, to create stunning marketing materials featuring both exterior and interior images, includ-

ing an interactive 360-degree presentation showcasing the interior.

Projectdescription

The architectural firm Eisl was entrusted with the task of planning and constructing a villa in a

rural area of Salzburg. With its outstanding layout and strikingly clean lines, the luxury home’s

design is impressive. Its southwest orientation and views of the pool and terrace beautifully open

up the interior living spaces, while small street-side windows help maintain a sense of privacy

inside the villa. Every room in the house is connected to the outdoor area, whether it´s via the

terrace from the basement or the ground floor, or through the balcony on the upper level.

Project description

Vienna’s allotment gardens have long provided

city dwellers in the Austrian capital a welcome

opportunity to commune with nature. Small garden

lots (approx. 220 m2) on the Schafberg, a hilly

green area in Vienna’s west end with beautiful

views of the city, are particularly sought after.

Since the 1990s, zoning changes have made

it possible to construct year-round housing

on these lots under restrictive conditions. To

retain the green space and garden character of

the area as much as possible, construction is

limited to two stories plus cellar on an area of

50 m2 per building lot. Furthermore, access to

this auto-free zone is granted to small vehicles

for a limited time only during construction. The

design of a year-round luxury residence on this

hillside site required the greatest attention not

only to aesthetics but also to space, energy,

and time efficiency.

The Schafberg Garden House by architect Johann

Lettner offers an elegant and supremely “green” solution to the many challenges posed by both

zoning regulations and specific site conditions. Designed on split levels facing the southwest

and positioned to create private outdoor areas, these eco-friendly houses fit into the hillside

seamlessly and make full use of passive house construction techniques that render conventional

heating systems unnecessary. The selection of building materials is largely determined by the

requirements of passive house technology as well as zoning restrictions: the extensive use of

glass allows for an optimal use of solar energy; materials offer super insulation values and building

elements and must be easy to transport and/or dismantle. Large windows, terraces and rooftop

terraces expand living areas to include their lovely surroundings. The minimalist design of the

interiors with its subdued color palette and simple yet elegant material selection lets the views

command the scene, further blurring the line between indoors and outdoors.

Projectdescription

Kaltenleutgeben is located in the southern Vienna Woods near the industrial district in Lower

Austria. The community borders the extreme southwest of the city of Vienna and is a popular

recreation area for the Viennese population.

The development, consisting of four residential units designed as passive houses, takes full

advantage of its topography and southern exposure with cascading private gardens, courtyards

and terraces providing views into the valley and wooded slopes below.

Tangram 3DS worked with the architect Johann Lettner to help develop his design and to pro-

duce stunning imagery for marketing.
