Tamper-proof E-cigarette Analyzes Smoker’s Fingerprints January 9, 2014 Putting a password on your laptop or smartphone makes a lot of sense, but can the same be said for an e-cigarette? A company called Vapor Corp says yes, which is why they have already introduced a “biometric vaporizer” prototype. The device could help safeguard children and prevent theft, but it could also ensure your nicotine supply is exclusively for you. The biometric vaporizer looks very similar to the company’s cigar-sized VaporX, with the addition of a fingerprint scanner. When finalized, the device will be able to recognize multiple users’ fingerprints, although exactly how many is something Vapor Corp has yet to confirm. While you might still be questioning the practicality of a biometric vaporizer, there are also plans to introduce other smart features in the near future. So instead of just added security, you could use an associated app to track how many times a day you’ve inhaled and how much nicotine you’ve consumed. The biometric vaporizer will be available in the second half of 2014 for between $199 and $299, according to Vapor Corp. http://www.psfk.com/2014/01/biometric-electronic-cigarette.html#!rPFFK
