ALL-STAR WORTHY—In the second AL All-Star Game balloting update, released this afternoon, Wilson Ramos has passed Yankees catcher Gary Sánchez by 59,260 votes, although it remains the closest positional race in the league…Ramos is attempting to become the fifth different Rays player to win a fan election, and would join designated hitter José Canseco (1999), third baseman Evan Longoria (2009-10), outfielder Carl Crawford (2010) and designated hitter Corey Dickerson (2017)…Ramos leads AL catchers with 63 hits, 14 more than 2nd-place OAK Jonathan Lucroy (49)—and 21 more than 7th-place Sánchez…Ramos and Sánchez are the only two AL catchers who qualify for the batting title, and Ramos is batting .286 to Sánchez’s .194…Ramos also ranks 2nd among AL catchers with 35 RBI and is batting .357 (20-for-56) with RISP, 10th in the AL regardless of position.
