The Friends of Surrey Heath Museum was

founded in 1987 to support and publicise the

work of the Museum, and to raise money for

both conservation and purchases for the

collection.

The Friends enjoy a varied programme which

includes regular outings to places of historic

interest, guest lectures and an invitation to

the museum’s private views. They also assist

with special museum projects and events.

Through the programme of outings and lectures the Friends of Surrey Heath

Museum have helped to:

• Fund a consultant to create a living history website based on the Ron Francis collection.

• Purchase taxidermy specimens for the education handling collection.

• Purchase and conserve paintings and objects for the Museum collection.

Exhibition Programme 2017

1st April to 13th May

Surrey Heath’s Art Collection An exhibition featuring paintings and prints from the

museum’s art collection, donated by local people for

nearly 90 years. Alongside the work of amateur local

artists there will be paintings from our three prominent

collections – George Edward Lodge, Percy Harland

Fisher and George Kenner.

Includes paintings purchased by the Friends of the

Museum.

Talks on each of the prominent artists will be held during

the exhibition also

Thurs 11th May 6 – 7:30

20th May to 8th July

Take Ten The rich cultural make-up of our area is the

inspiration behind this exhibition which features 10

people who have made Surrey Heath their home.

Either people have lived here all their lives or have

moved here, we look at where they grew up, what

attracted them to this area and why Surrey Heath has

become their home.

Associated Take Ten exhibition events will be held

throughout June. Please see our website for more

details.
