One day training program on “What got us here, won’t take us there“ was organized by department of
Mechanical Engineering, RCERT, Chandrapur on 14th
Jan 2019.
The department of Mechanical Engineering organized one day training program on “What got us here,
won’t take us there” recently. A 2002 alumnus, RCERT, Mr. Ajit Kumar, Regional Manager , Atlas Copco (A 148
year old company), Chennai, conducted the training program. The program was inaugurated by Principal Dr.
Z.J.Khan. In a start of session, Dr. Khan stressed the importance of having interaction with esteemed alumnus for
making bright future of budding engineers. Dr. Hemant Deshmukh introduced the alumnus Mr. Ajit Kumar. He
informed audience that Mr. Ajit Kumar was selected in campus held at RCERT in KOEL and thereafter rose to the
present position at Atlas Copco. Atlas Copco is a group which has its diversified interests in compressor, vacuum
pumps, industrial tools and construction equipments. Mr. Ajit is handling sales and marketing of South India and
Sri Lanka as well. On the occasion, Dr. Pravin Potdukhe, Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering urged
students to select the input properly to become successful manager, engineers and persons.
Mr. Ajit Kumar during his training session explained the concept of Blue Ocean, need to be at the top
every time, to be consistent in what you do. He told the budding engineers that common quality of successful
person is the passion for excellence. He concluded with saying that finish what you begin, finish well beyond your
expectations, and do little more than you wanted to do. During the training session corporate games for students
were also held. The training session was attended by faculty members Dr. Vinod Gorantiwar, Prof. Abhay Nilawar,
Prof. Sudhakar Khamankar, Prof. Narendra Ade, Prof. Shailendra Zaweri, Prof. Pravin Padole, Prof. Ashok
Karmankar, Prof. Nageshwar Gandlewar, Prof. Yogesh Yenarkar and Dr. R.E.Thombre. Prof. Pramod Sahare and
Prof. Mahesh Baradkar made the required arrangements of the program and Shraddha Wadgaonkar anchored
the programme and paid vote of thanks. Students of II, III and final year participated in the event and made it
successful.
