Take Me Out and all new Take Me Out: The Gossip return to ITV & ITV2

ITV’s ever popular dating show, Take Me Out - hosted by ‘King of Dating’ Paddy McGuinness

- and ITV2 hit spin-off show, Take Me Out: The Gossip - with Mark Wright and new

presenter, Laura Jackson - return to weekend schedules in early 2015.

Does Take Me Out’s success know no bounds?! The show has so far been responsible for

three engagements, two weddings, one baby called Freddie and one more on the way due

March 2015! So can Paddy’s next line-up of flirty 30 add to the romantic role call? For

those who are lucky enough to bag themselves a perfect partner, their love story will begin

as they jet off to sunnier climes for a dream date on the Isle of Fernando’s for ITV.

Then post-date and overnight, for the all new Take Me Out: The Gossip on ITV2, where the

dating duos check in for an exclusive, luxury stay at Casa Fernando where all the gossipy

goings on are revealed. Cameras will follow the couples on their romantic island getaway, as

we get exclusive access to the love-matches and love mis-matches. The Gossip will dig

around for all the saucy secrets!

Joining them poolside for all the dating low-down, will be The Gossip hosts Mark and

Laura. They will chat to the couples and delve much deeper into all the activity and dating

tales and trials, as viewers get a chance to get all the post-date gossip, into the night and the

morning after…

Q&A

The show is in its seventh series, why do you think Take Me Out is so popular with viewers?

Take Me Out doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not, it’s honest. It appeals to all the family, kids

like it and adults like it, which is always good with an entertainment show.

The show has so far been responsible for three engagements, two weddings, one baby called

Freddie and one more on the way due March 2015, any potential love matches this year?

Yes definitely, I think this year is the strongest for love matches, we’re having a lot of success so far

so let’s see what happens but I think there might be a wedding in the future, from this series.

What’s the best skill one of the TMO boys has pulled out of the bag this series?

It wasn’t so much a skill but one contestant attempted to impress the girls by pulling a seven half ton

wagon around the car park. That has to be a Take Me Out first!

And the worst/funniest?

We had one contestant who was on stage with two oompa loompa’s (based on the characters from

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory). This is why I love this show, its not everyday you come into

work to be greeted by this!

What advice would you give the boys, before they come down in the Love Lift?

I have a chat with the guys ahead of the record and the one bit of advice is to be themselves.

Do you have a favourite “let the … see the…” phrase?

This series I’ve opted for themes. Some of the themes I’m doing this year are musicals, boybands,

cockney rhyming slang and Indian takeaways.

Who have been your favourite couple on Take Me Out to date, across the seven series’?

I couldn’t pick one, they are all good in their own way!

What’s your idea of a perfect date?

My perfect date is with my wife, at home, with a takeaway whilst the kids are in bed. At the

moment my favourite takeaway has to be duck fried rice and Peking ribs!

Q&A

You’re based on the Isle of Fernando’s at casa Fernando’s this year, what can we expect?

Mark: Plenty of juicy gossip as it happens and the couples can't get away with anything this year

because we are filming every single minute. We’ve even got cctv inside the house - not in the

bedrooms though!

Laura: We have in the bathrooms though…not really.

Any potential weddings on the cards?

Laura: I don't know about weddings but there’ve definitely been some love matches

Mark: And potential weddings, you never know.

Have you passed on any of your own dating tips?

Mark: Sometimes I’ll give the guys a bit of advice.

Laura: And Mark passed on some style tips to one guy who wants to be just like him.

Have you got any memorable date stories of your own?

Laura: When I was 17 my boyfriend Tom took me to the Ikea cafe and we had a hotdog eating

contest for our first date. I had train track braces bottom and top. I won but I had bread in my brace

for about three months.

Mark: With my first girlfriend when I was 13, I took her to the cinema but I made her pay for the

tickets. It was only £2.50 for a child’s ticket. It was my mum’s fault. She said I shouldn't pay for girls

at my age, that's for when you’re a man. I got called tight at school for about three months.

What’s your dream date?

Laura: I'm really into my food, so not somewhere flashy but somewhere for good food or a nice

glass of wine in a pub.

Mark: I like staying in, getting a take away and putting a film on, wearing trackies with the heating

on and candles everywhere. Lovely.

Laura, what made you want to join The Gossip team?

Laura: I love the show, I’ve watched it since the very beginning and I would stay in on a Saturday

night over going out to watch it. I think Paddy is brilliant, the girls are hilarious and the boys make

me laugh so much. I was so happy to get the job. I love the format this year.

Mark: And you get to work with me.

Laura: Of course the main reason, my best and final reason I was building up to, was obviously that I

get to work with Mark. And the team it's great, we have the best crew and it means we have the

best time. It makes it unforgettable. I think it’ll come across when you watch it, you'll get a sense of

the banter we have with the crew, how at ease we are and all the laughing off camera.

Laura, what’s your failsafe date outfit?

Laura: A little black dress and some nice heels, red lipstick and messy hair. That way I won't be

stressed, I feel like that is a confident outfit. Plus, black is slimming, chic and suits everyone.

Mark, what would be your skill if you were a contestant?

The caterpillar, it’s the best party trick!

And the tune you’d come down in the love lift to?

Mark: Wake Me Up by Avicii, I sing it all the time.

134 pairs of heels are worn by the girls throughout the series.

The most requested on screen look from the girls is for ‘contoured cheeks’.

23 pots of nail varnish were used across the 10 episodes in this series.

It takes 5 minutes to do Paddy McGuiness’s grooming, compared to 2 hours each
