CHAPTER 1

TUB TAG

Swshswsh …

“Ben, do not fly so fast. I can’t keep up,” said

Sam.

“But we have to find Ted and Pam. Where

could they be?” asked Ben.

“Let’s fly around and look for them and then

we can all play tub tag,” said Sam.

“Look! There they are. They are down by the

log.”

Ben and Sam went down to see Ted and Pam.

“Do you want to play tub tag?” asked Ben.

“Yes!” said Pam.

“I do too,” said Ted.

“I will be blue,” said Ben.

“I will be green,” said Ted.

“I will be yellow,” said Sam.

“I will be red,” said Pam.

“Let’s go get the tubs,” said Pam.

Up, up, and away!

“Look down there. I see Dan in the big lot. I

will fly down and see if he wants to play with

us,” said Ben.

“Hi Dan! Do you want to play tub tag with

us?” asked Ben.

“Yes, can I be red?”

“Pam is red. Do you want to be white?”

“I will be white. I think my pal Jan would like

to play too. Let’s go find her,” said Dan.

Up, up, and away!

They went to look for Jan. “I see her down

there. Let’s fly down and ask her if she wants

to play with us,” said Dan.

They all came down on the hill.

“Hi Jan. Do you want to play tub tag withus?” asked Dan.

“Yes, I would like to play!” said Jan.

Up, up, and away!

On the way, they saw:

one brown ox run after a fox,

two wet hens in a pen,

three blue cans on a red van,

and four hot pigs on a cot.

Ben said, “I have a new way to play tub tag.

It’s very fun. Do you want to try it?”

“Yes!” said all the pals.

“Here are tubs with green, yellow, red, white,

black, and blue. Ted will get a tub of green,

Sam will get a tub of yellow, Pam will get a

tub of red, Dan will get a tub of white, Jan

will get a tub of black, and I will get a tub of

blue. We fly around and try to get a pal wet

with our tub. Once you get a pal wet, that pal

has to fly with you. The first one to get all of

the pals wet wins!”

“I think it will be fun!” said Jan.

“Go!” yelled Ben.

Splash!

Pam got Sam wet with her red tub.

“You fly with me now!” Pam said to Sam.

Splash!

Ben got Dan wet with his blue tub.

“You fly with me now!” Ben said to Dan.

Splash!

Ben and Dan got Ted wet with the blue tub.

“You fly with us now,” Ben said to Ted.

Then they all went after Jan.

Jan had to fly around, and around, and

around so she did not get wet.

Splash!

Sam and Pam got Jan with the red tub!

“You fly with us now,” said Sam.

Sam, Pam, and Jan went after Ben, Ted, and

Dan.

Ben, Ted, and Dan had to fly very fast so they

did not get wet. They got away, but then camearound and went after Sam, Pam, and Jan!

Splash! Splash! Splash!

Ben, Ted, and Dan got Sam, Pam, and Jan wet

with the blue tub!

“Blue wins!” yelled Ben, Ted, and Dan.
