Moreover, Eva Air doesn’t even have an onboard announcement in Khmer Language for Khmer passengers either. They have an on board announcement in other foreign languages such as Chinese, Siam, and even Youn - we have been flying on Eva Air way before Youn. Some months, more than half of the plane passengers on Eva Air flights from Taiwan to Srok Khmer are full of overseas Khmer passengers, but still no announcement service in Khmer Language on all the planes. Several times in the past, I had to help translated the on board flight announcement messages into Khmer Language for our elderly Khmer passengers who traveled along with me, particularly when the plane’s overhead speakers didn’t sound very clear. Majority of the time, our elderly Khmer passengers couldnt understand what the pilots or airline flight attendants said or knew where to go after the plane landed. Since 1992, I have flown on Eva Air to Srok Khmer. Its 2011 now, the situation remains the same - no Khmer flight attendant and no onboard announcement in Khmer Language. Like a few other Asian airlines, Eva Air has hired one or two Khmers to work as ticket agent and customer assistant representative and tha t’s about it. Is that considers an improvement after the millions of dollars that we spend traveling on Eva Air? Are we not smart enough to qualify for the flight attendant job? There are 14.7 million Khmers in Srok Khmer and nearly 2 million living overseas. Not one kon Khmer has enough brain or talent to be trained as a flight attendant? Are we that stupid? I’m not asking Eva Air to hire a Khmer airline pilot now!  In 2008, I went into Eva Air local office in Phnom Penh City. I was there to try and reschedule my flight back to the United States. While I was there, I took the time to converse with one of the Khmer supervisor about the need to hire Khmer flight attendant. The supervisor was professional about it and showed great concern. She listened to my complaint. She said that I was right and handed me a customer service complaint form to fill it out. She suggested that I filled out the form and she ll give it to her Chinese boss for a review. I spent severa minutes filling out the form and handed it back to the supervisor . Then, I said “How many complaint forms have you collected already.” She replied none. I thought to myself that my complaint form will probably at end up in the trash can too after I leave. It was useless to continue. So, I thank her and left. Eva Air is looking down on us even though they are making millions from us every year. They don’t value us as good customers. They just don’t take us seriously or view us as important enough to do something extra for us As consumers, why do we have to put up with that? It does bother me a lot as a customer . I don’t know about all of you? The issue doesn’t bother Khmer travel agents (in Srok Khmer and abroad) because they are making money from Eva Air. They have nothing to gain except headache by helping to push for Khmer flight attendant on Eva Air. Should we boycott Eva Air in order to force them to change and provide better customer service?

Taiwan Eva Airline

WANT OUR BUSINESS BUT NOT OUR SUGGESTION

For over 15 years now, there isn’t one single Khmer flight attendant on any of Eva Air flights from LAX to

Taiwan or Taiwan to Srok Khmer. Moreover, Eva Air doesn’t even have an onboard announcement in Khmer

Language for Khmer passengers either. They have an on board announcement in other foreign languages such

as Chinese, Siam, and even Youn - we have been flying on Eva Air way before Youn. Some months, more than

half of the plane passengers on Eva Air flights from Taiwan to Srok Khmer are full of overseas Khmerpassengers, but still no announcement service in Khmer Language on all the planes.

Several times in the past, I had to help translated the on board flight announcement messages into Khmer

Language for our elderly Khmer passengers who traveled along with me, particularly when the plane’s

overhead speakers didn’t sound very clear. Majority of the time, our elderly Khmer passengers couldn’t

understand what the pilots or airline flight attendants said or knew where to go after the plane landed.

Since 1992, I have flown on Eva Air to Srok Khmer. Its 2011 now, the situation remains the same - no Khmer

flight attendant and no onboard announcement in Khmer Language. Like a few other Asian airlines, Eva Air has

hired one or two Khmers to work as ticket agent and customer assistant representative and tha t’s about it. Is

that considers an improvement after the millions of dollars that we spend traveling on Eva Air? Are we notsmart enough to qualify for the flight attendant job? There are 14.7 million Khmers in Srok Khmer and nearly 2

million living overseas. Not one kon Khmer has enough brain or talent to be trained as a flight attendant? Are

we that stupid? I’m not asking Eva Air to hire a Khmer airline pilot now!

In 2008, I went into Eva Air local office in Phnom Penh City. I was there to try and reschedule my flight back to

the United States. While I was there, I took the time to converse with one of the Khmer supervisor about the

need to hire Khmer flight attendant. The supervisor was professional about it and showed great concern. She

listened to my complaint. She said that I was right and handed me a customer service complaint form to fill it

out. She suggested that I filled out the form and she’ll give it to her Chinese boss for a review. I spent severa

minutes filling out the form and handed it back to the supervisor . Then, I said “How many complaint formshave you collected already.” She replied none. I thought to myself that my complaint form will probably at end

up in the trash can too after I leave. It was useless to continue. So, I thank her and left.

good customers. They just don’t take us seriously or view us as important enough to do something extra for us

As consumers, why do we have to put up with that? It does bother me a lot as a customer . I don’t know about

all of you? The issue doesn’t bother Khmer travel agents (in Srok Khmer and abroad) because they are making

money from Eva Air. They have nothing to gain except headache by helping to push for Khmer flight attendant

on Eva Air. Should we boycott Eva Air in order to force them to change and provide better customer service?
