Tokyo Rooftop Wind Turbine Project

5.5 kW x 5 units = 27.5 KW The world’s first project to install a wind turbine at 490’ from ground level. The design strength (200 miles/hr wind) and quietness were decisive factors in choosing this Taisei turbine.

The Small Wind Certification Council (SWCC) is an independent certification body and certifies that small wind turbines meet or exceed the requirements of the AWEA Small Wind Turbine

Performance and Safety Standard.

This certification provides a common North American standard for reporting turbine

energy and sound performance, and helps small wind technology gain mainstream acceptance.

Rural Development

Washington, D.C., May 4, 2010 – Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced that USDA is seeking applications to increase the production and use of renewable energy sources. Funding is available from four USDA Rural Development renewable energy programs authorized by the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 (Farm Bill).

Wind for Schools ProjectWind Powering America and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) launched the Wind for Schools project in 2005 by conducting a pilot project in Colorado that resulted in one small wind turbine installed in Walsenburg, wind energy curriculum development, and a great deal of enthusiasm for the Wind for Schools project's potential. Wind for Schools projects are currently supported in six Great Plains states (CO, ID, KS, MT, NE, SD).

Rural Energy for America Program• The 2008 Farm Bill, enacted by Congress in May 2008• The program allows farmers to apply for grants and

loans to fund renewable energy projects including wind projects.

• Congress allocated the following funding for the new program.

$55 million for fiscal year 2009 $99 million for fiscal year 2010 $70 million for fiscal year 2011 $70 million for fiscal year 2012
