We have a vision. Helping Hands is focused on: 1) Increasing life saving potential. Save more lives and remove barriers to pet adoption.2) Improving animal health and wellness. We are expanding our veterinary services.3) Creating a humane community. We want to make Topeka the most pet friendly capital city with more public spaces for pets, pet friendly businesses, and by reaching more students through education.4) Promoting animal welfare. We are raising awareness and lobbying for updates to the Kansas Pet Animal Act.5) Capitol improvements. In 2013, we moved into a state of the art shelter that cost $10+ million. We raised the money through donations and did not have debt or a mortgage when we moved in. Maintaining and upgrading the facility is costly but unavoidable. We also need reliable vehicles to transport animals to other rescues.

5K Trail: A mix of flat terrain & hills with dirt & grass.
