She is one of the few Western journalists to have interviewed Mr Putin and Mr Medvedev at length.Frank Althaus is a teacher and translator of Russian, and director of the Russian Language Centre, which he founded in 1992. He is also a partner of Fontanka, the specialist Russian art publishers. He has edited a number of exhibition catalogues for the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg and the Courtauld Institute in London.
