Hello summertime and summer friends, and goodbye as your 2014-2015 TN-AAUW

organization offers. Some reminders before summer fun and visitors distract you:

OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS' GROUP

The Outdoor Enthusiasts’ Group gets together year round to enjoy hiking, snow-shoeing, other outdoor activities (and good companionship!) in the beautiful Lake Tahoe area. We are currently hiking and will continue to do so throughout the summer. We meet at 9:30 AM every Monday (weather permitting) in the lower parking lot of the Village Church on McCourry Blvd. at the Mt. Rose Hwy.; from there we carpool to our hiking location for a two to three hour outing. Occa-sionally, with advance notice, we plan hikes further afield which also include ei-ther a picnic lunch or lunch out at a res-taurant.

Contact me [email protected] or 831-8608 if you would like to participate and be notified of upcoming hikes by email.

During the warmer months, a kayaking group goes out from Ski/Hermit Beach in Incline Village at 9 AM most Wednesday mornings. Please contact Liz Paganelli at [email protected] to be added to the kayaking email list. A road-biking group—the Wheeling Women—will go out on Friday mornings for outings in the greater Tahoe area during good biking weather. Please contact Millie Clarke at [email protected] if you would like to join that group and be added to their email list. Thanks, Lynn

The Book Group will meet on Monday, June 8. We are pleased to have local au-thor, Doug Keil lead a discussion on his latest book “BarCats”. Our hostess for the evening is Kelly Neville. FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE UPDATE

Your fundraising committee has been working on a wonderful event for our group. We will be collaborating with our Parasol Partner, the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, on Thursday, August 6, 2015. See the flyer in this newsletter for details!

Our committee is also working on some possible projects for this fall. We are planning a collaboration with the Incline Boosters to be held in October or November at the high school, and possibly an-other Nothing to It cooking class in Reno. There is also an oppor-tunity to make some money, if we have a few members willing to “Adopt Polling Place” at the November election and donate their earnings for our scholarship fund.

Please contact me at [email protected] or 775.843.0775 if you are interested in volunteering for any of the projects! We need volunteers for all types of assistance; during various months…we can accommodate your sched-ule!
