It all began one day, sitting in my living room, pregnant

with my second child, I decided to found THE ANDES

FASHION (formerly COOL STUFF EC) in November

2009. I worked in flower exports and at the time the crisis

had affected much of Europe and Asia were the markets

with which I worked. So I decided to do what I wanted to do life,

design and create! Without hesitating, I started looking for references, designs, colors,

trends and talented people who want to make my new business a global success. In my old job I

often talk to people working as laborers on farms, which had an incredible ability to craft but

due to time and not being something they substantiate their daily lives as they could not do

their business. Every time I was in the U.S., Argentina, Chile, Brazil, and elsewhere, looked like

people were interested and delighted with the Ecuadorian handicrafts and jewelry, so this gave

me a great idea that got to go into it later.

Worked with different companies before; gave me a wide experience in the management of

natural materials. In my personal experience I realized that this country is rich in many

aspects, especially in the area of creating handmade crafts with seeds of the rainforest and other

local materials, as well as recycled. I studied fashion design and studied art before. With the

experience gained in those months I could develop my online jewelry now so I knew that the

world market would fall in love with the look of natural materials, like many people and I did.

All our designs are created with natural materials, recycled as tagua resin (an innovative and

environmentally friendly replacement to plastic) and natural fibers. I loved the idea of making

my designs a fusion of rural and urban, in the simple and elegant and the results are very

unique and stunning pieces!

Because we care about people and families we work with, we pledge to work under the rules of the

Fair Trade Federation, to give our people the proper treatment they deserve and pay fair prices

and accurate. Through this business also looking for different ways of contributing to the

communities, apart from providing employment and improve their lives. This is our non-profit

project, THE ANDES FASHION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. The project is realized through

the "Fundación Juan Landeta" of Ecuador. They specialize in educational programs and

projects. But we were not only complying with that, we support with 15% of the proceeds to the

Yasuní ITT Initiative, to help preserve the Yasuní National Park and let all the oil underground.

We support all just and noble causes presented to us.

The Andes Fashion grows every day but thanks to collaborations with companies, designers,

events, runways, and we are searching every day and new customers to take possession in

today's global markets. With the help of our skilled craftsmen are constantly developing new

fashion designs inspired by the fusion of our urban environment and the natural beauty of

Ecuador. This is the approach we want to demonstrate how they have based our designs on

fashion jewelry and apparel brand THE ANDES FASHION revered as both mainstream and

green industries of fashion. Our number of workshops and artisans is growing more. Working

with communities in Imbabura, Manabí, Pichincha, Azuay, Esmeraldas and soon with

communities in Peru. We currently have over 200 artisans throughout Ecuador, 20 in Peru and

we give jobs indirectly to 7500 families only in Ecuador! We are delighted to be able to have

you on board with us! Enjoy our collection! EXPERIENCE A NEW WAY OF FASHION WITH

THE ANDES FASHION!

On this street you will find

Santa Bárbara

Constructed by the Jesuits between 1605 and 1765, the stones of the facade of this baroque style church were sculpted by natives. From 1767 to 1807 the churchremained closed due to the expulsion of the Jesuits from Ecuador. It was re-opened by the Chilean priest Camilo Henríquez of the Buenamuerte order, who was later involved in the fight for indepen-dence in his country.
