• Taco Bell was founded by Glen Bell, who first opened a hot dog stand called Bell's Drive-In in San Bernardino, California

• 1964 retired policeman Kermit Becky became the first taco bell franchisee and opens a location in California

• 1970 Company goes public

• 1973 Taco Bell was purchased by PepsiCo. Inc

• 1987 Taco Bell realizes marketing success by linking its fast food to blockbuster movies

• 1990 low cost value menu was introduced

• 1991 Taco Bell Express was launched
