Introduction:

In SAP there are lots of standard customizing tables. In these tables, entries are maintained

from SPRO settings. Ideally whenever theseentries are maintained, they ask for a transort to save data change further user needs tomove these transort every time from develoment environment to roduction environmentif he doesn!t have access to maintain these SPRO settings directly in roduction.

"his document deals with the rocess of maintaining standard customizing table entrieswithout using transort. "his enables users to directly maintain entries in roductionenvironment.

Note of caution:

Ideal way to maintain any standard customizing table is via SPRO settings. #ou should askuser to do that way only as this kees all theenvironments in sync. "his workaround should be used only if there is no business imact ifthis standard table is directly maintained in roduction system. So do analyze all the aboveotions before imlementing below aroach.

Detailed Requirements / Technical Description:

If any change is done to any of the above entries, it asks for a transort as shown below%&

ow to maintain these entries directly we create maintenance view on a table, create itstable maintenance generator and assign a "code which will be used to maintain this tablemaintenance generator.

Stes to create maintenance view and table maintenance generator are as follows% &

/. )o to S0// and select view and enter view name as re$uired and click on create %&

1. Select last otion as "ransaction with arameters and enter a short descrition asshown below% &

3. 0nter the short descrition and table name on the ne2t screen%&

4. ow select view 3elds tab and enter all the 3eld names which are suosed to bemaintained by this view. 4y +efault it shows only key 3elds.

After entering 3elds, save and check the view and activate it. #our maintenance view iscreated.

e2t is to create table maintenance generator for this maintenance view. Stes for that areas follows%&

2. On reaching to ne2t screen, enter values of authorization grou, function grou andclick on 5ind Scr. umbers- button.

3. It will suggest you screen numbers as below% &

ow click on create button. On clicking on create it will ask you for a ackage in which youneed to save this. Assign roer ackage. #our maintenance generator is created.

5inally you need to create a "&6ode which will call table maintenance generator of abovemaintenance view. Stes to create "&6ode are as follows% &

1. )o to S078 ' 0nter "&6ode name ' 6lick on create.

3. 0nter values as below for "ransaction and select check bo2es of ski initial screen and)9I suort%&

4. After this scroll the screen down and enter values as below in default values% &

On saving your transaction is created. ow you can maintain table entries without includingthem in transort.

Some clients wants data in the table to be maintained directly onto Live server whereas

some wants is to be transportable across systems/landscape for maintaining data

consistancy.

Table Maintenance Generator is used for this. The process can be applied to directly to the

table or by using view.

Steps:

1. Go to the table/view and select SE11 ! utilities ! Table Maintenance Generator.

Then only will the system as( for Transport re)usest when entering data using view in

SM*+. ,therwise- selecting o will ma(e data nontransportable- thus you have to maintain

data on each system individually.
