FROM THE PULPIT TO THE DOOR
Zion Baptist Church
Broadway at Atlantic Ave, - Camden, N.J. 08104
We thank everyone who joined us on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Palace in
Blackwood, NJ as we celebrated our Pastor and First Lady, Rev. William L. Elliott and
Deaconess Rochelle M. Elliott on their 20th Pastoral Anniversary. Your presence and
support was deeply appreciated.
We congratulate our members and friends for coming together in serving the homeless
and the community on Thanksgiving Day at our church. A full course meal was served
to over 200 people.
On Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 2:00pm we held our Annual Christmas Concert.
This year we honored Sister Mary James (affectionately called BABES’). Babes’ has
been our musician for the concert for eight years. Thanks Babes’ and get well real
soon!
We celebrated the home-going service of our dear beloved member Sister Eleanor
Acrey Hunter. Sister Hunter passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Her
funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11:00am at Zion
Baptist Church. Mrs. Hunter was a charter member of Zion, she was very dedicated to
the church. She enjoyed and loved music. She was the President of our Music
Ministry. We bid farewell to a Christian Willing Worker for Christ!
We applaud our young people who sang in the choir at Mt. Olive Baptist Church on
Saturday, December 19, 2015 in the Christmas Concert.
In this festive holiday season remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. Have
a blessed and happy holiday to all! To God be the Glory!
New Year’s Eve service will be held at the Church on Thursday, December 31 at
10:30pm. All are invited to attend.

A woman invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to her six-year old daughter and said: “Would you like to say the blessing?”
“I wouldn’t know what to say,” the daughter replied.
“Just say what you hear Mommy say,” the mother said.
The little girl bowed her head and said: “Dear Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?”

A pastor was speaking to a group of second-graders about the resurrection of Jesus when one
student asked: “What did Jesus say right after He came out of the grave?”
The pastor explained that the Gospels do not tell us what He said.
The hand of one little girl shot up, “I know what He said; He said: ‘Tah – dah!” Via Andy Fisher

A man had been shipwrecked on a remote island in the Pacific and was alone for 20 years. When a ship finally arrived, his rescuers were impressed with the three buildings he had built and asked him
about them.
“Well,” the man replied, “this is my house and that building over there is my church. It’s a wonderful church and I hate to leave it.”
“And what is the third building yonder?” a rescuer asked.
“Oh, that is the church I used to go to,” the man replied Via Palmer Stiles
