PrintoCent - Boosting the Industrialisation and commerialisation of Printed IntelligenceIn PrintoCent, companies get easy access to new business development and pilot manufacturing resources for the introduction of printed intelligence components, systems and products, from pilot production to early market trials. Application focus areas range from rapid disposable diagnostics, smart flexible lighting and wearables to Internet-of-Things with sensors and energy harvesting.

PrintoCent has wide global reach with its international member companies and partners. In Oulu region, Finland, more than 500 experts are available in research and in industry. The funding to start-up companies has exceeded 50 M€ and the turnover of companies in the field is over 25 M€.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, University of Oulu, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, and Business Oulu are the found-ing members of PrintoCent. The way of working in PrintoCent is based on regular Cluster Meetings and project based operations. The overall programme is coordinated by VTT.

Handbook for Technology Training and Coaching - Introduction to Printed IntelligenceIn this 2nd generation PrintoCent Handbook for technology training and coaching (2019) we introduce the Printed Intelligence (PI) state-of-the-art advances in materials, processes and manufacturing and integration methods, as well as process & quality control and reliability testing.

A big set of printed components and devices are introduced – conductors, passives, transistors, memories, displays, energy harvesting and storage devices, microfluidic devices and a variety of printed sensors. In addition, a remarkable set of PI design case examples, demonstrators and products are described.

Finally, business development environment and capabilities in PrintoCent industry cluster are described for the emerging needs of scaling-up in Pilot factory and industrial production lines.

TactoTek® is the leader in Injection Molded Structural Electronics (IMSE™) technology. TactoTek’s proprietary IMSE technology integrates printed electronics and electronic components within 3D injection molded plastic structures to create thin, seamless, electronically active, durable and economical smart molded structures. In conventional use cases, such as in-vehicle control panel, a single IMSE part typically replaces a multi-part traditional electronics assembly, making it simple to integrate and eliminating labor-intensive electro-mechanical assembly. The company licenses IMSE technology for their customers who design and mass produce parts. TactoTek also adapts customer concepts into IMSE solutions and develops production-ready prototypes which can be mass produced by TactoTek or a TactoTek Licensee.

The story of TT Gaskets began in the 1940's when we created a grease to make soldiers' boots water-resistant. We also made spare part gaskets to military equipment with the materials available at that time. Since then we have evolved to one of the leading independent gasket manufacturers in the world.Our manufacturing facility in Tampere, Finland has state-of-the-art machinery for cutting the thousands of materials we have in stock.
