1. PPTCT Line list – Introduction
The Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission (PPTCT) line list is a reporting cum tracking tool
which collects, retains and updates individual wise details of all HIV positive pregnant women
who attend the facility during Antenatal period or Directly In labor or during Post Natal period.
Each and every ICTC or ART center shall maintain their respective PPTCT line list which will
contain all the details of the HIV positive pregnant women tested at their center or have
registered at their center for Antenatal care.
The Line list shall be initiated and maintained primarily at the ICTC center but can also be
initiated and maintained at ART center (women on ART becoming pregnant). The details required
in order to enter in this line list shall be obtained from the PPTCT line list register at the ICTC
and ART centers. As of now the PPTCT line list will be maintained in Excel sheet format.
As and when a pregnant woman is identified HIV positive or a known HIV positive case becomes
pregnant, their details are entered in the PPTCT line list. The line list contains 92 columns which
comprehensively covers the details of the Antenatal, Delivery outcomes, ART of the mother as
well as the EID testing details of the HIV exposed baby and the Spouse and Family details of the
pregnant woman. The 92 columns have to be continuously updated, only few columns at a given
time.
The PPTCT line list shall be initiated and filled by the ICTC counsellor at the ICTC level and by
the Data Manager at the ART center. Periodically the updated PPTCT Line list shall be submitted
to the district authorities, where it will be compiled and sent to the state level authorities.
2. Objectives of the PPTCT Line list
There are two primary objectives of the PPTCT Line list viz
1. Tracking of the Individual HIV Positive Pregnant woman and HIV exposed baby
2. Monitor the PPTCT program at various levels in the administrative hierarchy
Tracking the Individual- PPTCT line list shall serve as a tracking tool to closely follow up the HIV
positive pregnant women, the ART linkage, ART adherence and pregnancy outcome. It shall also
serve as a tool to closely follow up the Early Infant diagnosis of the HIV exposed baby, whether
tests were done, result of the tests, ART registration and outcomes.
Monitoring the PPTCT program- PPTCT line list shall give rich patient level data which when
compiled at various levels viz district, state and national level shall help to monitor the
performance of the PPTCT program in various aspects like Early detection, ART linkage, EID
testing, Family Planning, Spouse testing etc.

After entering all required fields click on Save Button.
You will get successful submission screen and directed to the Referral Screen.

Referral:
After the all details are entered click on save button to save the file online and will proceed to next
level of entry screen. Successful submission screen appears. Click on OK.
