Thank you to all school staff, students and our wonderful community for contributing to a really productive and positive term at Seaham. Next term we have some exciting events happening early on. NAIDOC assembly — The first week of the holidays is NAIDOC Week with the theme this year being “Voice, Treaty, Truth” with a focus on working together for a shared future. Our special NAIDOC assembly will happen in Week1, Thursday July 25 in our school hall from 12:45pm. We are excited to welcome the Hunter River High dancers and we hope lots of our parents and friends can attend. Education Week - is in week 3 next term. At this stage our book fair will be held during that week in the library. Tuesday will be our open day with an official welcome in the hall from 10:45am. Classrooms will be open from 11am where parents and friends can see a writing lesson in action. After a picnic lunch we will gather for our ‘book parade’ in the hall from 12:40pm which is always a highlight. The theme for education week this year is ‘Every student, every voice’ and the book week theme is ‘Reading is my super power’ which might give you some costume ideas. Parent/Teacher interviews — this year will be held during week 4 next term, a little later than past years. Early next term information will come home regarding this with an opportunity for you to select an interview time. Year five and six reports should have gone home on Monday. All other reports will be in bags at the end of this week. Community PBL — This week’s recipient is Jake Hostler. Jake was very honest and responsible when he and his sister returned a ‘fitbit’ that they had found on the way to school. The owner of the fitbit was very thankful and relieved that it had been found. Well done Jake!
