DAY 1: MONDAY, JUNE 29 WARSAW: 1,000 YEARS OF JEWISH LIFE IN POLAND

Early morning arrival in Warsaw (depart Cleveland on Sunday, June 28 on your own.)

Taube Jewish Heritage Tours coordinator will meet participants at the Chopin Warsaw International Airport (WAW). Transfer to Taube Center office via coach. Welcome by Helise Lieberman, director of Taube Center for the Renewal of Jewish Life in Poland Foundation followed by Introductions and Orientation.

Transfer via coach to the Umschlagplatz Monument, commemorating the 300,000 Jews deported from the Warsaw Ghetto to Treblinka in 1942. Guided walking tour from the Umschlagplatz Monument, following the Route of Martyrdom and Struggle, which includes Mila 18, to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising Memorial and concluding at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews Plaza.

Enter POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Lunch at Warsze restaurant located in the POLIN Museum. Guided walking tour of the POLIN Museum Core Exhibition Transfer to the hotel, check-in, time to refresh. Dinner at JCC Warsaw and meeting with its director Overnight in Warsaw DAY 2: TUESDAY, JUNE 30 WARSAW: THE LOST AND FOUND WORLDS OF JEWISH VARSHE/WARSAW

Breakfast in the hotel. Framing the day session in the hotel. Transfer to Sienna street via coach. Brief visit to the remaining part of the Ghetto wall at Sienna St. Transfer to Okopowa Jewish Cemetery via coach Guided walking tour of the Okopowa Jewish Cemetery. Transfer to Grzybowski Square via coach. Visit to the Nożyk Synagogue, Warsaw’s only synagogue to have survived WWII and the Communist period. An iconic symbol of Jewish continuity in Warsaw, the synagogue continues to serve Warsaw’s Jewish community. Meeting with the Chief Rabbi of Poland Michael Schudrich. Guided walking tour of the Grzybowski Square, with its panorama of Jewish history, Próżna Street and Janusz Korczak Monument.

Lunch

Transfer to the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute via coach. Guided visit to the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute, the largest repository of Polish Jewish material heritage in the world for a guided tour through its permanent exhibition of artifacts from the Oyneg Shabbes Archives.

DAY 3: WEDNESDAY, JULY 1 WARSAW – THE PHOENIX CITY/KROKE - JEWISH KRAKÓW: RICHNESS OF THE PAST

Guided walking tour of Warsaw’s Old Town, with its 15th century Jewish roots, a stroll down the Royal Route to the University and Nowy Świat street, a charming example of prewar Warsaw.

Transfer to the Warsaw Central Railway Station. Departure via fast train to Kraków (approx. 2h 20-minute ride) Arrival at Kraków Main Station Transfer to Kazimierz, Kraków’s Jewish quarter via vans

Lunch

Guided walking tour of Oskar Schindler’s Factory Ride For The Living Orientation Meeting with JCC Krakow Executive Director Jonathan Ornstein.

Transfer to the hotel, check-in, time to refresh Hotel PURO Krakow Kazimierz Dinner on your own Overnight in Kraków DAY 4: THURSDAY, JULY 2 AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU Breakfast at the hotel Transfer via bus for a visit at the Auschwitz Jewish Center. Transfer via bus to Auschwitz Birkenau Memorial and Museum Boxed lunch on the bus Private guided tour of Auschwitz-I (separate guiding group for B’nai Jeshurun). Transfer to Auschwitz II-Birkenau via bus. Private guided tour of Auschwitz II-Birkenau (separate guiding group for B’nai Jeshurun). Memorial ceremony at Auschwitz II-Birkenau with RFTL Participants Transfer to Krakow via bus for the Welcome Dinner. Welcome Dinner in Krakow for RFTL Participants Overnight in Krakow Day 5: FRIDAY, JULY 3 RIDE FOR THE LIVING! (and alternative option) Transfer via bus to Auschwitz II-Birkenau for the RFTL welcome ceremony (breakfast boxes on the bus) RFTL opening ceremony at the gate of Auschwitz II-Birkenau; bike fitting Ride For The Living: Cycle from Auschwitz-Birkenau to JCC Krakow on a mostly flat, enjoyable, and meaningful 60-mile (97 km) route or choose the shorter 14-mile (22 km) route or longer advanced route (JCC Krakow provides: bikes, jerseys, helmets, insurance, medical and technical support services, lunch, snacks, water stations, sunscreen)

*Riders please note: All riders required to raise funds for Krakow JCC to support renewal of Jewish life in Poland. Minimum $1000. For 29 and younger $500. See Rabbi Weiss for guidance in setting up fundraising page, so you are part of our team.

Alternative Option: Non-Riders have their own dedicated educational programming in Krakow Arrival at JCC Krakow Time to freshen up at the hotel Friday Shabbat services. Shabbat dinner with over 700 participants, including Krakow's Jewish community, as part of the Jewish Culture Festival DAY 6: SATURDAY, JULY 4 SHABBAT/TOURING/JEWISH FESTIVAL Breakfast at the hotel Shabbat morning services/Optional studying with community Rabbi and JCC members Selection of private guided tours of Krakow (first round of tours) Group lunch with Rabbi Avi Baumol, the Rabbinic Representative of the Chief Rabbi of Poland in Krakow and local community members Selection of private guided tours of Krakow (second round of tours) Private meeting for RFTL Participants with JCC Krakow Executive Director about the rebirth of Jewish life in Krakow and a tour of the building Group dinner Private Cocktail Reception for RFTL Participants overlooking Shalom on Szeroka: Open-air musical concert featuring headlining acts from the Jewish Culture Festival and Havdalah with 20,000+ people DAY 7: SUNDAY, JULY 5 CLOSING CELEBRATION Breakfast at the hotel Check-out; Closing celebration and brunch at JCC Krakow (ends approx. at 2:00 pm)
