Our November 9th silent film program was held at the Capitol Theatre in York. We moved the program to the Capitol Theatre this year since the Allen Theatre is still closed for renovations. Don Kinnier accompanied the 1926 silent film “Cruise of the Jasper B” starring Rod La Rocque and produced by Cecil B. DeMille. While this was a club function and not open to the public, we had several guests in the audience and a nice attendance from our members. Don got glowing comments from audience members for his outstanding accompaniment skills. We are planning more silent films next year. Christmas is rapidly approaching and that means it’s time for our annual “Christmas Spectacular” at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA. Our program will be held on Tuesday, December 8th at 7:00 PM in the Health Care Center on the campus of Masonic Village. Several of our members will be playing their favorite Christmas selections on the 3-manual Allen Theatre Organ. All SVTOS members are invited to attend this program. It’s always a fun time for the residents and staff of the Health Care Center and also for our SVTOS members. (See directions on Page 3 this newsletter). Open console days are coming up on Monday January 18th and Monday February 22, 2016. SVTOS members may schedule some practice time on the Capitol Wurlitzer. Don Schoeps will schedule and host the open consoles again this year. Please contact Don at 717-254-6097 or email him at [email protected] to schedule your time. NOTICE TO ALL SVTOS ORGANISTS: This is your opportunity to set up your pistons using the new memory levels on the new Artisan combination action. Memory levels have been assigned to all of our playing members and are posted on the SVTOS website, www.svtos.org/CapitoOrganCombos.htm Please use the correct memory level when setting up your pistons. Depending on the number of people signing up for open console time, we may schedule some additional open console days. Thank you to all who have renewed your membership in SVTOS and paid your dues for this season. There are a few who have not yet renewed their membership and we will be mailing out reminders in the near future. As the year end approaches there is still time to make contributions to your favorite charities. SVTOS is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation and we are grateful for all contributions to continue our programs. We need to replenish our Scholarship Fund for next year so we welcome all contributions to the Scholarship Fund or the General Fund for expenses. Roy will be happy to accept any and all contributions. Your contributions may be tax deductible, but consult your tax professional. Thanks to all for another successful year. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and a Very Happy New Year!
