My deepest thanks to all parishioners of St. Timothy parish
for all you do to increase charity and to take on sacrifice.

To Be Like Him
I am strong, but he has strength
I tolerate – but he forgives
I have education, he has wisdom
I am liked – but he is loved
I am looked at, he is looked to –
I speak not of the Almighty
but of a mere mortal
I have learned
that one must be a father
to appreciate his own father
and to wish him
To Be Like Him

CELEBRATE AMERICA!
Red, and blue reaches a musical pinnacle in this moving
ALL-AMERICAN show. The best of American composers, this
stirring show is laced with patriotic songs and inspiring melodies
from across the homeland sung by St. Timothy Catholic Church
Choir along with special guests: Sam Reynolds, Debbie Garrett,
Heather Ard, Andrew Struhar, Devin Eatmon, Kathleen Kane,
and other guest performers from the Central Florida Lyric Opera
– all under the direction of Maestro Bill Doherty. This
performance tells the story of the history of our great country and
celebrates everything that defines us as American. It will also
include a special musical dedication to the men and women who
have served and are serving in our country’s Armed Forces. This
is as American as it gets with all the bells and whistles to make
hearts pound and flags wave. Bring
tissues. This program has been known to
bring audiences to tears. Sentimental and
meaningful, anyone who calls himself
American will never forget this rousing
production! There will be two
performances on Friday, July 1, 2016 at
St. Timothy Catholic Church – 4:00 PM
and 7:00 PM. Tickets are $10.00 and are
available in the Parish Office.

RECYCLING—THANK YOU
Thanks to all who are recycling newspapers and magazines.
The income received from this effort helps the
St. Vincent de Paul Society purchase items for
our Food Pantry. These monies are also used
to help those in financial need. Perhaps your
neighbors are looking for a place to recycle
their newspapers and magazines. If possible,
bring their newspapers and magazines with yours when you drop
off your recycling. We do request that you please not put paper
or plastic bags in the bins.

Then he said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter
said in reply, "The Christ of God." He rebuked them and

GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP
Questions are a normal part of Grief work. Grief is filled
with unanswerable questions. Asking WHY or
attempting to answer all questions can lead to despair
or an unwarranted sense of guilt. The St. Timothy Grief

renovations to the Ministry Building are complete.

PRAYER FOR THOSE LIVING ALONE
I live alone dear Lord, stay by my side
In all my daily needs, be Thou my guide.
Grant me good health, for that I pray
To carry on my work from day to day.
Keep pure my thoughts, my every deed,
Let me be kind and unselfish in my neighbor’s needs.
Spare me from fire, from floods, malicious tongues,
From thieves, from fear and evil ones.
If sickness or an accident befall me,
Then humble, Lord, I pray, Hear Thou my call.
And when I am feeling low or in despair,
Lift up my heart and help me in prayer.
I live alone, Lord, yet have no fear
Because I feel your presence ever near.
Amen.

PRAYER ON YOUR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
O God, we thank you that you have given us
another year of life together. We thank you for the
love which grows more precious and for the bonds
which grow more close each day. We thank you for
the happiness we have known together; for the
sorrows we have faced together; for all the experiences of
sunshine and of shadow through which we have come, up to
today.
We ask for forgiveness for any failure on our part; for any
times when we became difficult to live with; for any lack of
sympathy and understanding; for anything which spoiled even
for a moment the perfect relationship which marriage should be.
Spare us to each other to go on walking the way of life together,
and grant that for us it may be true that the best is yet to be:
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC? MISSING SACRAMENTS?
Each year a process called RCIA—the Rite of
Christian Initiation—offers an opportunity for
people who are unbaptized (not Christians) or
those who are Protestants to become Catholic.
It also allows baptized Catholics who missed their first communion
and/or their confirmation to complete their sacraments of initiation.
If you or anyone you know might be interested in the RCIA
process, please contact David at [email protected], 352-
753-0989.

SPONSORS FOR RCIA
Adults who are becoming Catholics need Godparents to walk this
journey with them. In the RCIA process, Godparents are called
“sponsors”. If you went through RCIA yourself or have been a
sponsor in the past, please pray to see if God is calling you to
serve in this role at. St. Timothy. If you are interested and would
like to know the specifics, please contact David at
[email protected], 352-753-0989.

RCIA TEAM
As we prepare for next year’s RCIA process, we are speaking with
parishioners who might be interested in joining the team. If you
served as an RCIA team member either here or in another parish
in the past, and you are interested in ministering in this capacity
again, please contact David at [email protected],
352-753-0989.

Dear Parents,
It has been another wonderful year here in our ever growing
Religious Education program and I thank you all for your
excellent participation.
This year St. Timothy is proud to announce the continuation
of our Catholic Vacation Bible School program. For those of you

due to the renovation of our Parish Hall we will host Vacation
Bible School outdoors. Not to worry—we have secured an event
sized tent for the safety and security of your children. The
registration form to enroll your child in our third annual Vacation

website (www-sttimothycc.com). We ask that you please fill it out
and return it to the parish office at your earliest convenience.
The deadline for registration is Friday July 8

2016. The cost
to participate is $25.00 per child or if you have multiple children
$35.00 per family.
I urge you to enroll your students and have them join us for
a Barnyard Roundup this summer to discover how Jesus gathers
us together.

WHY IS ST. TIMOTHY’S PARTICIPATING IN AN
INTERFAITH PEACE PRAYER SERVICE?
As you well know, our world is fraught with violence, not only
abroad but right here in our country. We only have to look at
what happened in Orlando recently. In November of 2015,
parishioners from St. Timothy Catholic Church gathered to pray
for peace. After an overwhelming response, many parishioners
asked why we were not including other Christians and other
people of faith in this type of prayer gathering. To that end, we
invited our brothers and sisters from other Christian churches, as
well as the Jewish, Bahá'í and Muslim faithful in the area. On
April 12, we held an Interfaith Peace Prayer Service that elicited
a tremendous sense of solidarity and common cause among the
over 250 people who attended. Each faith group contributed
readings, prayers and sermons on the topic of peace. Each
tradition was valued and respected for its particular beliefs. But
we found a sense of unity in our common desire for peace and
security for ourselves and our country. The Muslim Imam (the
equivalent to a pastor) stated the following in his sermon: “The
terrorists are not Muslims, they are murderers!” Similar
sentiments were expressed by all, speaking a loud message that
called for unity, cooperation and solidarity in our efforts to live
and work peacefully to confront the problems in our world. The
immediate response was: “When will we do this again so I can
invite others?” If you have not already been invited by a friend
or neighbor, please consider this your invitation to join in this
beautiful effort to lock arms as we call upon God to lead us in
our efforts for peace. The next Interfaith Peace Prayer Service
will be held on Tuesday, July 19 from 6:30-7:30 PM at Temple
Shalom in Oxford. Because of construction, please arrive by
golf cart or by alternative directions to be found on the flyer in
the parish office and on the parish’s website:

PRAYER FOR PEACE
Lord, please stand beside all the peoples of the
world and instill into the heart and soul of each
and every person love for their fellow man, trust
in their fellow man and a strong desire to have
peace and cooperation with their fellow man.
And with that, dear Lord, please help us achieve
peace throughout the world and an end to global terrorism.
