FROM THE EASTWM Norman C. Parker

On Tuesday, January 21st, our Senior Stewart, Brother Joseph Jordan, successfully completed

his 3rd Degree proficiency. It was truly an honor for me to be sitting in the East to witness the

perfect performance of the degree by Brother Joseph and all the Brethren who participated.

Please join me in congratulating, Brother Joseph, for a job well done!

At the February Stated Meeting Dinner, we were honored by the visit of Worshipful Master Ivan

Boev, sitting Master of Nova Luna Lodge #123 in Sofia Bulgaria, and his First Lady, Tatyana.

Both Worshipful Boev and I had gifts which we presented and received on behalf of our

respective Lodges.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, we provided individual long-stemmed red roses so that each

Brother present could give one to their lovely Lady. It was indeed a heartwarming moment that

I believe everyone cherished!

During our February Stated Meeting, Worshipful Brother Jim Achenbach presented a very

informative and educational lecture about our Lodge Charter. Those present in the Lodge had

an opportunity to see the “real deal” as the Charter was passed around for everyone to see and

touch. Worshipful Brother Jim will contact the Grand Lodge to find out how we can acquire a

black and white copy of the document with the Grand Lodge Seal. It was discussed thereafter

that we may want to store the Lodge Charter in a glass display to protect the document from

damage, considering it is nearly 100 years old. More to come next month regarding this matter.

The highlight of our March Stated Meeting is the Inspector’s Official Visit where we will receive

our distinguished Worshipful Brother Richard “Dick” W. Bullard as our 921st Masonic District

Inspector. Being a significant ceremony, especially with Worshipful Brother Dick as our Guest

of Honor, I encourage everyone to find the time to attend this special occasion.

Please remember to check the “Special Announcements” section of the Trestleboard for any

upcoming activities so you can work around your schedule to participate in them.

Thank you again to everyone who have made the past events possible and successful. I am

incredibly proud of the great work, commitment, and dedication of our Brethren and Ladies to

accomplish so much in such a short period of time.

Amidst the disconcerting issues faced by our country and that of the world, let us continue to

pray for everyone’s health and safety, especially for our Military who are continuously deployed

to fight for our freedom.

Respectfully yours,

N. Chris Parker

Master

Following our March Stated Meeting Dinner, Camille Salinas, MSW Lodge & Outreach Educator and ourMasonic Outreach Services representative, will give us a short presentation about benefits available toMasons and their families in need of relief. California Masons dedicated the first Masonic Home inUnion City in 1898. Created to shelter widows and children left destitute and alone, it was our statefraternity’s first major, tangible testament to the Masonic ideals of brotherly love and relief. Since then, the Masonic Homes of California has expanded into a robust, statewide network of critical resources andservices for our members. Through compassionate care, the Masonic Homes pledges to keep Masonicfamily members of all ages, throughout California, safe, healthy, and connected. The speaker willprovide information and answer questions about the various programs that exist to provide relief forBrethren in need: the Masonic Assistance telephone line, the Masonic Homes at Union City and Covina,Masonic Senior Outreach Services, Masonic Family Outreach Services, and the Masonic Center for Youthand Families, Shared Housing, and Lodge Outreach.

All Stated Meeting Dinners will now be held in the Ionic/Doric Room of the Scottish Rite Center. Unless otherwise informed, cost is $15 per person.

Dear Ladies,

Ladies’ Corner

Sincerely, Finesse

I trust you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day, especially that spent with your loved ones. The occasion is just one of many opportunities to remind us of how profound LOVE iswhen shared with others.

The table decorations for the remainder of the year were also finalized (see below). Thank you, Judy Black, for volunteering to do the October table decorations. While I was slated for December, Judy and MartyHaslim had a splendid idea to have instead an activity in November for the Ladies to create the Christmastrees. We can even group ourselves to create different decorations per table. Please let me know if you havesuggestions for specific items to create, other than Christmas trees, so we can finalize and prepare thematerials needed. Planning ahead is key!

FRIENDLY REMINDERAs mentioned previously, the planned activity for April afterthe Stated Meeting Dinner is to plant succulents in smallcontainers. These are easy to make and are low-maintenance forindoor or outdoor. Please let me know if you are interested toparticipate in this. I need to make sure there are enoughmaterials for everyone!

I look forward to seeing you real soon!

Thank you, Bobbie Covert, for providing the Februarytable decorations. They were as lovely as you!
