Letting Go Easter, 2015
Don’t cling to me. … (John 20:17) It’s not just Mary in the Garden who needs to be reminded to let go … Resurrection Life isn’t about clinging for dear life, but about moving on into Life that can’t be tackled and pinned down. They urged him, saying “Stay with us,” (Luke 24:29) It’s not just the disciples at Emmaus who need to discover, with some disappointment that he doesn’t stay where they want, not even when asked politely. Resurrection Life isn’t about restraining life with even the most hospitable invitation, but about moving on into Life that can’t be restrained. The doors were locked, for fear … (John 20:19) It’s not just the disciples in the Upper Room who need to discover that Resurrection Life breaks through our locked doors with brilliant joy. Resurrection Life isn’t about accepting paralyzing fear today as a given, somehow hoping that someday life will be better, but about discovering the better Life is already in the room with us, already available, already at work. I don’t understand most anything about our faith. But I know this: the Life God has in mind for us, the Life that walks through death itself as though it were a mist, that Life is available now and always. During Lent, many of us are reminded once again to examine our lifestyles and ask, "What can we do for others?" Lent is a good time to commit to giv-ing money to a project that helps those in need. One way to in-volve the whole family is to collect coins dur-ing the season of Lent, then donate what has
been collected after Easter.
If you wish you may bring your coins to church each week or you can bring them on Easter Sunday. Let’s see if we can fill that can!
If you prefer to donate your coins individually we certainly encourage you to do so.

in the silence of contemplation of Gods mercy.
Easter Flowers- Would you like to bring flowers to
help decorate the Altar on Easter Sunday? They could be either cut or potted
(maybe something other than lilies). We will have a sheet available where you can
designate your flowers in memory/ honor of someone special, their names
will be published in the Bulletin. You may bring your
flowers anytime during Office Hours or Service Times
Easter Week (March 29-April 5).

Clothes Closet
Providing clothing for
children placed in homes by Child
Protective Services. The items in the
closet are chosen especially for foster
children. There is a special need for
socks and underclothes, as well as
clothing and pajamas (5-10)
SOS-SAVE OLD SPECTACLES
Thank you for making it possible to purchase items for
the April meal at Coffee Oasis. We will be serving, Glazed Ham, Potato salad, Corn on the Cob,
Rolls, Pumpkin Cream Pie & Cookies and Drinks There will be a new menu and cost breakdown posted
each month. Please let us know if you would like to weigh in on planning the meal or if you would like to help
prepare and deliver the meal, a group will be meeting in the kitchen of TUMC on
Friday the 3rd of April at 3:00pm If you have questions contact Libby Correll,
Kris Alamen or Lyla Begor in the office.
The food bank totals for February are
$205 and 28 pounds of
food. That brings the yearly
total to $325 and 193
pounds of food. Thank
you for helping to feed the families of
Kitsap County.
The Backpack Brigade, is designed to provide nutri-
tional support over weekends during the school year
to children of families in urgent need. Teachers are
increasingly aware of children who come to school
on Monday mornings hungry. During the week these
children receive free or reduced meals at school, but
on the weekends parents are unable to provide the
same level of nutrition.
The Backpack program is designed to provide these families with backpacks containing nutritious food for the weekends. Children are chosen by classroom teachers who discretely deliver the backpacks on Friday afternoons Your financial support as well as your donations of non perishable food are greatly appreciated.
Food Bank
Donna Burke would like to thank everyone for supporting her efforts to collect glasses for the needy and third world countries. To date she has sent in over 4,000 pairs of glasses. Every
pair is “recycled” for use by someone who urgently needs them but who otherwise must go with-out. Turn in your old “Spectacles” and help give sight to thousands worldwide. It is not necessary
to include the cases. There is a basket for your donations at the front of the Sanctuary. For more information you may contact Donna Burke or the office 373-6425.

Tracyton United Methodist Women Unit Meeting Consider becoming an active member of the Tracyton United Methodist Women.
There are all kinds of projects in development and your input and support are
greatly needed. Please take and fill out a pledge form from the Information Wall
and put your pledge to work. Our Unit meeting will be Saturday April 11th at 10:00am.

Members of the District Executive Board en-
joyed a guided tour of Lea Hills Wesley Gardens
on January 29. The facility is amazing, the staff
is amazing!
It is a little tricky to find! Check mapquest, GPS
and Google Earth to get a clear idea of where
to go! Directions are also included on the regis-
tration form. (available in the church office.)

be offering a variety of crafts including Prayer
Beads and Necklaces, ($5.00 donation for
beads suggested).
I am so excited that we are holding our Spiritual
Day Apart (SDA) as a full day of spiritual fun
and enjoyment. We have not had the opportu-
nity to have this kind of celebration for a couple
of years and I am really looking forward to it.

We need an Event Coordinator for the
Tracyton Bazaar by the Bay 2015.
This will not be as daunting a task as it sounds like.
The formula for this program has been developed over the last few years
by the Crafts Group and should not be hard to follow. Several people have already
volunteered to lead or be in on one or more of the subgroups (of which there should
be at least four) What we need is someone to make sure the subgroups have a plan
and are on schedule. If you would be willing to serve please contact the office or let Pastor
know. The sooner we get started the better! Below is an example of how the subgroups could be set
up and their responsibilities as well as some names of those who would be willing to help:

The Trustees would like to thank everyone
who pitched in and helped make our
Church Work Day a success! First let me thank our Chairman Mr Jim Klein who spent time, the night before, calling as many peo-
ple as possible to remind them and ask for their help. A crew of about 15 people showed up and were
able to mark a lot of things off our to do list. Everyone started showing up at 9:00am and we were
able to conclude following lunch, which was provided by Libby Correll and Marilyn Winterowd. It
was also a chance to catch up with some old friends and to even meet some new ones! Many compli-
ments have been given on how nice everything looks both inside and out. It’s a good thing when
everyone pools their time, talents and ideas to complete a project. Once Again, Thank You All! Roger and Libby Correll, Sally and Jim Klein, Marilyn and Lee Winterowd, Mike and Carol Wnek,
Lyla Begor, Josh Carpenter, Bonnie Chrey, Emma Hill, Joan Piersal and Galen Newling.
