The Parish Budget for Fiscal Year 2017 (7/1/16 - 6/30/17) is based on the giving of our faith family for Fiscal Year 2016. The portion of our budget contributed in envelopes, checks and loose cash is $1,768,000.00 or $34,000.00 per week. Contributions for the 50th weekend of the fiscal year were $33,404.00. In the 50th week of our fiscal year, our budgeted goal for ministry programs and ordinary operating expense is $1,700,000.00 and our collections are $1,791,727.00. Thank you for your continuing generosity. May God bless you in your sacrificial giving. Lord, help me move from comfort to sacrifice.
How shall I make a return to the Lord for all the good He has done for me? (Psalm 116:12)

SOLEMNITY OF THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST Today the Church celebrates the gift of the Holy Eucharist throughout the
world. What a gift God has for us in the Eucharist, truly the Body and
Blood of the Savior, Jesus Christ. When I reflect upon this sacrament,
I am overwhelmed at both the humility and the generosity of the Lord.
Was it not enough to become one of us in taking on our humanity? Was it
not enough that Jesus would endure all the rejection and reproach of the
people of the time? Was it not enough that Jesus would take up the cross
and suffer the horrors of the passion? Was it not enough that our Lord
would rise from the dead to give us new life and the hope of resurrection
for eternity? Still, God chose to love us even further by leaving us a token
of His love which is His Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist. Imagine
God humbling Himself by coming to us under the appearance of mere
bread and wine, yet truly the God Man Jesus Christ! Let us come to adore
the Lord with greater love and reverence than ever before, humbly
receiving our God and King. Give the Lord thanks for this divine gift–a kiss from heaven!
FATHERS DAY To celebrate Fathers Day, let us ask our Heavenly Father to pour out blessings upon our
earthly fathers through the intercession of St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus, as we pray:
Good Saint Joseph, foster father of Jesus and spouse of Mary, support
our fathers on earth with your gracious intercession. Help them to
become the strong spiritual men that God calls them to be. Assist them
to guide and to guard our families with Christian love and example,
laboring with diligence and employing honor in all that they do.
Show them how to put Jesus first in their lives and thereby bring right
order into our homes. Reveal to them the importance of defending virtue
in the midst of the trials and battles of earthly life so that they may lead
their families into everlasting life. St. Joseph intercede for our fathers,
both living and deceased, before our Father in heaven, both now and forever.
AMEN.
FEAST OF THE SACRED HEART This Friday, June 23rd, at both the 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Masses we celebrate the Feast of
the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the love of God poured out through the human heart of Jesus.
Come and give your heart to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as you seek to be a true disciple of
the Lord.
PETER’S PENCE Next weekend we will take up the annual Peter’s Pence collection, which provides the
Holy Father with the funds he needs to carry out his most important charitable works.
The proceeds benefit the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression and natural disasters.
Through your generosity, we can help Pope Francis cast the peace of Christ upon the world!

Most Holy Body & Blood of Jesus Christ UPCOMING:
Bible ACTION
Term of the WEEK
With family or friends:
Read John 6:51-58 Jesus says He gives us
his flesh to eat and His
blood to drink. Take
time before the Blessed Sacrament
and ask Jesus to help
you to believe.
St Thomas affirms our
senses are fooled in
what they see (bread
and wine), that we must
make an act of faith when we come to Jesus
at communion.
“Lord Jesus, I do believe.
Help my unbelief!”
The conversion of the sub-stance of the Eucharistic elements into the body and blood of Christ at the consecration, only the appearances of bread and wine still remaining.
“Amen, amen, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not
have life within you. - John 6:53
These words of Jesus come from the most divisive sermon he ever gave. He spoke it one year before his passion and death, and his audience understood that what He was claiming: to be from Heaven. There was no middle room here; either one heard Jesus’ words, and believed what He said was true, or they walked away.
And many did walk away that day. We don’t hear it proclaimed this Sunday, but in John
6:66 we learn that “As a result of this, many [of] his disciples returned to their former way of life and
no longer accompanied him.” Jesus then said to the Twelve, “Do you also want to leave?”
When we come to Jesus in the Eucharist, we
come in faith. What we see appears to be mere bread and wine, but Jesus tells us directly, it is
His divine Body to be chewed upon by us, his creation! This is why we hear the words, “The
Body of Christ.” before we receive Jesus in the Eucharist. Our response, “Amen!” we are
saying, “Yes! It is truly Jesus’ Body!”
Do you believe Jesus is truly present—body, blood, soul and divinity—in the Eucharist?
