FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

Over the last week, students in Years 3 and 5 have completed the NAPLAN assessments online. The results of these assessments will be available in the second half of term 3.

Congratulations to the P&C for their fantastic effort during the recent election. They again raised in the vicinity of $3000 to go towards our adventure playground soft-fall. Many thanks to all the families who donated cakes, biscuits and slices for the cake stall. It was a very popular stop for many voters! Last Thursday, our Kindergarten students enjoyed a special morning tea with their mothers and grandmothers. It was a lovely morning and enjoyed by all. They have certainly grown up a lot since starting school! Next week, our library will not be in use as the old tile roof will be replaced with a new colourbond roof. The area will be fenced off and students will not be able to access the area. Library lessons will occur in the classrooms although there will not be borrowing of books. This disruption will only be for a week. Enrolments for Kindergarten in 2020 are slowly coming in. If you have a child who will start school next year, please contact the office for enrolment forms. If you know of anyone in our drawing area, please let them know to contact the school.

What a fabulous day we had last Saturday at the Braddy Famers Markets!

The P and C were so thrilled by the amount of cakes brought in for our cake stall. This stall alone raised close to

$1200! There were many classes in the running for the class competition, but in the end, the final total revealed 1

Orange to be the winning class! They will enjoy their reward next week. The overall profit for the markets will

be finalised and printed in next week’s newsletter.

On Wednesday, the Library Monitors performed the story Alpacas with Maracas, for National Simultaneous Story time.

This is a fun event we participate in every year as we join many schools and public libraries in reading the same book on the same day at the same time.

The Library Monitors rehearsed for the performance in their own time and should be proud of

their entertaining performance!

Kindergarten students enjoyed having their Mum or Special Person

for a lovely Mother’s Day Morning Tea.

Year 5 and 6 students attended the STEM

Industry School Partnership Program (SISP).

Students enjoyed hands-on activities in

groups, learning about the Engineering Design

Process and the Project.

Let's Celebrate Families Reading Together!

We know that reading role models and shared reading time are critical to a child’s learning and literacy development. In fact, research shows that family reading time is

one of the BEST ways to grow a child’s interest in the wonderful world of books.

Kids who read, succeed!
