General MDG is a simple to use controller for regulation of temperature and humidity in dwellings with one or more heating-cooling zones. The system not only makes it easier to achieve building regulation compliance, but also simplifies the installation process for the contractor. The system foresees one or more room controllers providing time and temperature control, which are wired on a BUS within the dwelling. For example, one of the room controllers can be installed in the living zone and the others in the sleeping zone, bathrooms etc. The system consists of:

• Control board MM4TTL

• Room controller UA10/UA11

• Room thermostat TSRM

• 12 Vdc supplier ALI3010

• Minimaster GSM100FP

• Temperature probes

• Remote monitoring system

Control board MM4TTL

This is a custom designed electronic controller for heating/cooling management. It includes all the measurement and control circuits to drive pumps, valves and other devices used in such applications. It has also three communication channels to connect it to slave devices as well as to a main communication bus used to collect data from the modules.

Room controller UA10/UA11 The Room Controller (UA10 for heating, UA11 for heating and cooling) is a white ABS box with back lit graphic display. It must be installed in the apartment in such a way to read the average room temperature. It allows holiday settings, summer and winter operation programming, heating and hot water programming. It has to be connected to the MM4TTL by means a 4x0.35 mm2 screened cable. The cable must not be installed adjacent to other 230 Volt lines. The room controller’s power is supplied by the MM4TTL board and does not require batteries. Room thermostat TSRM It is a simple and functional room thermostat allowing to increase-decrease by 6 °C (or 14-26 °C) the set of the UA10/UA11 thus allowing to control each room independently.

Power supplier ALI3010

It provides power supply at 12 Vdc to the MM4TTL and at 5 Vdc to the heat meter SND or any other device.

Minimaster GSM100FP The Minimaster is used for remote monitoring. It allows the direct connection from and to a remote supervisor personal computer to be provided with a GSM modem. Main features The firmware allows to perform the following functions: � Sending SMS to a remote monitoring system with

programmable intervals of all working parameters, namely:

− Project code

− Apartment code

− Room temperature

− Room humidity

− Setpoint

− Primary water flow

− Primary supply temperature

− Primary return temperature

− Apartment circuit supply temperature

− Apartment circuit return temperature

− Storage temperature

− Outdoor temperature

− Consumptions (heating cooling and cold water)

− Credit card parameters � Sending via SMS alarms (together with project and apartment codes) to a list of GSM

numbers (GSM supervisor, GSM maintenance); the list of GSM numbers can be set on the supervisor only;

� Receiving SMS commands to change status and setpoint of the room unit from any GSM (GSM supervisor, maintenance or GSM user) if known password and apartment code

� The SMS variable size from the MiniMaster is max 160 characters � The SMS alarm size is max 50 characters

Temperature probes The control system can be completed with the following probes according to the required functions:

• Water probe PT1000: it is normally used to measure the temperature of the apartment circuit return;

• Water probes NTC: they allow the measurement of the apartment circuit supply and the dhw cylinder;

• Ambient probe SES: it allows to regulate the apartment circuit supply temperature according to the outside temperature (climatic regulation);

Remote monitoring system The Master Unit is the plant management system and consists of a power supply and modem communication interface. The module provides the monitoring of working parameters and consumptions of up to 32 or 128 or 384 apartments. The unit is also provided with four digital inputs for alarm acquisition.

Example 1: heating only single zone It is the basic solution without UA10, with TSRM only. The final user can adjust the set-point in the range between 14 and 26 °C (or any other +/- 6 °C range a preset value).

Example 4: heating and cooling 2 zones The zone 1, “master”, is managed by a UA10 (heating only) or a UA11 (cooling). The zone 2, “slave”, has its own TSRM. The UA10/UA11 permits the user to set the room set-points (comfort, reduced and anti-freeze) and 4 daily schedules (comfort, reduced, comfort, reduced). The TSRM permits to adjust the set-point in the range between+/- 6 °C the set point of the UA10/11. The UA11 allows also to bring on and off, according the RH set-point, a dehumidifier by means of a free voltage contact of the MM4TTL. Furthermore it is possible to command a three-way valve for summer/winter changeover.
