STEEL PIPE

Providing service in the steel pipe sector since 1964, Hatboru Çelik Boru San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. switched in 1998 from production of irrigation and drill pipe to the spiral welded pipe production as per API 5L, achieving currently to be cited among the bests in the steel pipe sector.

Not contended with its existing capacity and with a view of gaining higher share of potable water, irrigation water and oil pipeline projects in the steel pipe market and create more local employment, our company has increased its indoor plant area of 10,000m2 to 30,000m2 on a land of 100,000m2 at Antakya Industry Zone and added a new production line to the existing to casing pipe production lines and two spiral welded stele pipe production line, tripling its spiral steel pipe production line. Thus the production annual capacity of 50,000 ton reached to 250,000 ton.

Hatboru made new investment efforts in 2009 and, in line with the customer demands, established Hatboru Plastik Boru San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. It has started production of PVC casing pipes and PVC clean water pipe and soon achieved to be a sought-after trademark in this market. Furthermore, Hatboru Çelik Boru San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. started to import and make stock sales of seamless casing, tubing, drill pipe and line pipe as per the standards API 5CT/5D/5L. Our firm also performs elbow, TE, reduction and flange in addition to opening filters (slots) to the casing pipes.

Holding it as its target to carry out the most quality production in the sector, our company has also obtained quality certificates of OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) , ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), in addition to the existing Quality Management System ISO 9001, demonstrating its ambition to provide the best service in the respective sector.

PRODUCTION STAGES

The hot rolled steel roll coils, the measurement control is performed at the strip acceptance site as well as mechanical tests and chemical analyses at laboratory to determined compliance with the respective standard, and then they are gotten into the stock after labeling of the strips. Accepted at the stock site, the coils are, if required, subject to the slicing operation to the pipe diameter to be produced and then sent for production.

INTERNAL LINING AND EXTERNAL COATINGAir, water, earth and chemicals also affect the steel pipesas they affect everything. Thiseffect may only be preventedby coating of it by a materialaccording to the intended use.

HATBORU adopts quality and preciseness in the matter of coating, providing coating options of polyethylene, polypropylene, epoxy, polyurethane, bitumen, coal-tar enamel and concrete depending on the requirements of the steel pipe projects.

SURFACE PREPARATIONThe surfaces to be coated should be first thoroughly cleaned off any dirt, rust and scales. For this purpose, the internal and external surfaces of the pipe is cleamed by spraying steel ball/grid by use of special blasting machines to the degree of Sa 2½ .

POLYETHYLENECOATINGPolyethylene coating isa coating type frequentlyused for the oil, gas andwater lines. For the pipeslaid underground, it impartshigh mechanical resistanceand anti-corrosion strength.Normal type coating (lowdensity) is resistant againstcontinuous operatingtemperature of 60oC andspecial type coating (highdensity) is resistant againstcontinuous operationtemperature in a wide rangesuch as -60oC and +80oC.Hatboru carries out low,medium and high densitypolyethylene coating.

1st Layer: First the external surface ofthe pipe is sand blasted at Sa 2 ½ degree and then special powder epoxy paint (FBE) is applied to the heated pipe surface electrostatically. This is the layer providing corrosion resistance.

2nd Layer : Special adhesive is appliedto the pipe surface by extrusion method.Adhesive layer provides good adhesionof FBE and polyethylene.

3rd Layer : Low, medium or high density polyethylene is applied by extrusion method according to the specifications and technical requirements. Polyethylene layer ensures protection against mechanical damage and excellent protection against exterior factors such as heat and UV rays.

After sanding operation, different types of epoxies are applied to the internal or external surface of the pipe by spray method according to the related standards. On the internal surface, various epoxy are applied, namely, hygienic suitable to carry potable water in the internal surface or resistant against soil or sea water on the external surface. Solvent-free epoxy is preferred for potable water project,coal-tar epoxy for the irrigation pipes, glass flake epoxy for pile pipes and flow coat epoxy for natural gas pipes to ease gas flow by reduction of surface roughness.

EPOXY LINING & COATING

POLYPROPYLENECOATINGIt is applied same with the Polyethylene coating.

For the pipes laid underground, it provides high resistance and anti-corrosion strength up to the continuous operating temperature up to 120oC.

CEMENT MORTAR LININGCement Mortar is a type of lining especially applied insideof the pipe for water line. Cement mortar is applied in equalamount by spray method to the pipe rotating at high centrifuge.It may be used with or without additive. Additive used in thecement mortar is a binding matter between cement, sand andwater and improves quality of the lining by ensuring highsmoothness.

POLYURETHANE COATINGBecause of its high corrosion resistance and long service life, it is preferred for waste water and drainage lines in the sea water environment. However, it is also applied as protective layer against factors such as UV rays on the pipe lines running exposed.

BITUMEN COATINGBitumen coating is applied hot after application of primer ensuring adhesion to the surface. It is applied to the internal surface of the pipes by centrifugal method and to the external surface by wrapping bitumen impregnated glass fiber around the pipe. After the wrapping operation, the external surface of the pipe is painted by protective whitewash.

Welding Joint

It is the most widespread connection type used on the steel pipes.

Cylindirical Spigot

It is especially used for pipes coated with cement mortar. After installation, welding is performed externally.

Spherical Spigot

It allows possibility of rotation up to 10o for the pipeline without use of any attachment. After the pipes are mounted to the angle properly, external welding is performed.

Flanged Joint

Flange, specially manufactured according to te operating pressureof the line where the pipes shall be used, shall be welded to the pipe ends and joined by bolts.

At Hatboru, the quality control starts with metallographic inspection of the raw material to be used in the production and continues up to the shipping stage. As a result of quality control process, final inspections and laboratory tests in the production in accordance with the national and international standards, our products are shipped by 100% Hatboru assurance.
