A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE JUNCTION CITY AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND THE DAILY UNION

CHAMBER STAFF

Much has changed at the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce in the last year. But now that everyone is settled in, Chamber CEO Dennis Beson and the staff are developing ways to help its members take advantage of the Chamber’s services — while also providing networking opportunities in the process. The changes include everything from revamping the Membership Enhancement Division (formerly the Activities Division), to offering more training opportunities, to reviving the Young Professionals Network.

Here’s a look at just some of the changes already planned for 2016.

Membership Enhancement DivisionOne of the former staples of the Chamber struc-ture has been redesigned for efficiency and focus-ing on enhancing membership value. Earlier in 2015, the Board of Directors felt it was time to change the Activities Division’s focus, and in turn, changed its name to the Membership Enhancement Division. “It’s about creating more value for our member-

ship, and making it more about them,” Beson said, also attributing the division’s vision to Chamber Board of Directors Ty Arneson and Mark Ediger.

Ambassadors ClubThe Ambassadors Club — which will consist of

up to 24 ambassadors — will be serving as one of the liaisons between the Chamber of Commerce and its members. Ambassadors will be outreach advocates to both new and current members, and according to Beson, allows ambassadors the oppor-tunity to spotlight their businesses and the Cham-ber.

Ambassadors will also be competing against each other through a point system designed to encour-age healthy competition. Those points will help Chamber staff decide the Ambassador of the Year, the Ambassador Team of the Year, and the All-Star Ambassador Team. The Ambassadors Club meets at 7:30 a.m. on the third Wednesday of the month in the Chamber office.

Business After HoursThere are going to be more opportunities to become involved with the monthly Business After Hours event.

Sponsorships are available for all 12 Business After Hours during the year. Sponsorships are on three levels — one for the full year ($1,200), two for a half-year ($600 each), and the option to spon-sor an individual After Hours event ($100 each). “It’s a new initiative to give more businesses an opportunity to participate in a Business After Hours event and market their business,” Office Manager Kaitlin McGuire said.
