Sacrament of Baptism The sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the first and second Sundays of the month at 1:30pm. Couples who are awaiting the birth of a child are invited to contact the par-ish office to schedule an appointment with one of the priests.
Sacrament of the Sick
The sacrament of the sick is available to anyone who is acutely or chronically ill, or suffering the effects of age. Please speak with one of the priests.

Recently, several people received an email, ostensibly from me, asking them to send gifts cards and such for someone in need. It seems that several pastors, mostly in Dutchess County, have been victimized by a similar scam. As I pointed out to those who brought it to my attention, the email address – even though it had my name attached – is not mine. While I do have a personal email address, which is totally separate from my other accounts, I use my parish email ([email protected]) for all parish-related business. (The only other address I would use is my archdiocesan email, [email protected].) If you receive an email from me, but it’s not one of those two addresses, please treat it as spam.

Our envelope company made a major gaffe and included a “maintenance and debt reduction” envelope with the Easter mailing. While we’ll never turn down any gift to the parish, you may make whatever use of that envelope you’d like – but we’re not taking a second collection on Easter.

Every year on Good Friday, a collection is taken up for the Holy Land. This collection supports the work of the Franciscans working in the Holy Land. Christians there rely heavily on the help that comes to them during this special day in the Church and our life of faith.

ChristLife is a three-part evan-gelization series that we will be hosting here at St. John’s this fall. ChristLife is a pro-gram that prepares Catholics for efforts in evangelization. It is meant to guide people to personally encounter Christ and become His missionary disciples. The first part of this series is a seven-week program called Discovering Christ, which “invites you to hear the Good News and personally encounter Jesus Christ.” We need volunteers to be facilitators and assistants during the sessions. Facilitators will promote and encourage discussion in small groups based upon the topic taught in that session. Training will be provided to volunteers here at the parish. If you are interested in serving as a facilitator, please contact the parish office or use the Sign Up Genius found on the parish website and Facebook page.
