W ITH definite reports received fromapproximately half of the members of the1938 graduating class-the largest graduat-ing class in history-the Alumni Office hasreason to believe that a large proportion ofthe new graduates were able to find em-ployment within a short time after leavingschool .Of the nearly six hundred new alumni
who already have sent placement informa-tion to the Alumni Office, only thirty-onefailed to list a specific occupational place-ment, and only about a half dozen statedthat they were unemployed .More than one hundred fifty members
of the graduating class reported that theyhad found teaching jobs . The next largestgroup consists of about one hundred '38graduates who are continuing their educa-tion at O . U . or at some other school .The new alumni have found work in a
great variety of occcupational fields . Be-sides the fields of law, engineering, medi-cine and teaching, the '38 graduates areworking in drugstores, on newspapers, asnurses, accountants, soldiers, sailors, sales-men, secretaries, social workers, farmers, railroad men, in banks, as interviewers, clerks, insurance men, librarians, dietitians, geologists, merchants, theatrical director, fingerprint expert, landscape architect ap-prentice, minister, and director of a cater-ing bureau .The list suggests that a college education
is helpful in finding employment in a greatmany non-professional fields.Members of the Class of '38 are widely
scattered geographically as well as occupa-

A Bank Can BeFriendly and Human
The First National Bank and Trust Company has grown because of its friends .
And it has made friends by being friendly . In this organization there is no place for
a cold, impersonal attitude which to many is characteristic of the banking business.
In 1889 this was a small bank, housed in a little banking room suited to the
requirements of a pioneer community .
Now in its fiftieth year The First National is a large, progressive and thoroughly
modern financial institution, fully equipped to serve the needs of Oklahoma City
and the Southwest .
Always its friendly attitude toward its customers has remained unchanged . It
still maintains the close personal relationship with them that has been a cardinal
principle of The First National for half a century . It is on this friendly basis that we
will welcome you as a customer, in any or all of our many departments .
