The PositionThe Systems Administrator is an at-will position that reports to theChief Technology Director. This position is an integral part of ourInformation Services team, as the City uses multiple softwareprograms and systems in order to offer an array of services.

The Systems Administrator is well-versed in the advanced principlesand operating procedures of computer systems and relatedequipment, personal computer hardware and software products,and experienced with common Microsoft Office applications. As agood communicator and problem solver, the Systems Administratorwill have proven trouble-shooting techniques, will be self-motivated, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. Theywork quickly and accurately under time pressures, and maintaineffective working relationships with elected officials, professionalsand fellow employees.

They must also have technical experience with local area networks(LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), understand network protocol& communication concepts, be familiar with data back-up andsecurity concepts, should understand common printingtechnologies, be familiar with voice communications systems suchas Inter-Tel switches, Must be familiar with the setup andconfiguration of Cisco routers and firewalls, be experienced workingwith Windows Active Directory. Knowledge of the following ispreferred: MS SQL, VMware, MCSE (Microsoft Certified SystemEngineer), Microsoft Windows Servers.

Education and ExperienceEducation: Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited collegeor university with major course work in in computer science,information management, or a related field.

Experience: Four to five years of related work experience.

Compensation & BenefitsThe salary for this exempt, at-will position is $61,638 to $80,000annually, depending upon qualifications. The starting salary will bebased upon the relevant knowledge and experience of thecandidate selected.
