D2L Capture Station 500 Check the box contents1. Unpack the D2L Capture Station and accessories.

2. Verify you have the following required parts:

• D2L Capture Station 500

• Power Supply with Power Cable

• Adapters: 2 x DVI-VGA, 2 x DVI-HDMI, 6 x RCA-BNC

• Breakout Cables: 2 x DVI-3Port BNC (multi-purpose), 2 x S-Video-2Port BNC

Connect the cables1. Connect the power cord to the connector labeled “Power In”, as shown in the diagram.

2. Connect your Monitor, USB Keyboard, USB Mouse, and network cable (not included), as shown in the diagram.

3. Utilizing the breakout cables and adapters, connect a video, audio, and/or presentation source to the back of the unit, as required and shown here. Sources can include digital or analog cameras, microphones, laptops, document cameras, etc.

Setting up and running Capture1. D2L Capture Station powers on when connecting the

power cord to the unit. Alternatively, power on D2L

Capture Station by pressing the Power On/Off Button, on

the front of the unit.

2. Wait for the initial startup sequence. D2L Capture launches when this is completed.

3. Configure the network connection if required, by pressing

Ctrl/Esc on your keyboard to access and configure

Windows settings.

4. Enter the Portal Server URL in the prompt window, as

shown. This is provided by D2L to your IT or Capture

administrator.

5. To log in, click the Log In button at the top of the screen.

Enter your Username and Password if logging in via

Portal. If logging in via another authentication system,

see the D2L Capture User Guide for further details.

6. Verify you have the latest D2L Capture Software

version by clicking the Check Now button in

Options/Profile. In the event that you require an older

version of D2L Capture, schedule remote assistance

with D2L Corporation for a software downgrade.

7. Select input devices in the Options menu as required.

If D2L Capture Station does not recognize your input device after connecting the cable:

Ensure your screen resolution is 720p or less for VGA source inputs.

If required, click the Properties icon and select the Crossbar tab. Then select the source device from the drop-down list.

For VGA resolutions above 720p, use an external VGA-to-HDMI converter.

8. Configure automation according to D2L Capture User Guide.
