HalcyonPro Lighting ServerThe Brain, The Gateway, The Data Keeper

A single HalcyonPro Server per installation provides the control and monitoring connectivity and processing for all halcyon light fittings, sensors, switches and supporting devices. It is the brain that delivers the intelligence.

The Halcyon NetworkThe HalcyonPro Server communicates to each IPV6 addressable Halcyon device (switches, lights, sensors, plugs) through a 6LoWPAN mesh network using a 2.4GHz radio (802.15.4). It collates in real time the behavioural, environmental and energy data gathered from the sensors and devices in the halcyon system. It uses its internal clock and the data to automatically controls the lights & plugs within the rules that have been setup by the user or from our standard profiles. (This includes advanced security and does not require wifi or internet connection.)

Communicating with halcyon through Wi-FiThe HalcyonPro Server can connect (by cable) to a standard wifi router to enable your existing wifi devices to interface with the Halcyon system for setup, manual control and to view the monitoring data.

The server comes preinstalled with our lighting API, help files and a web style interface that can be accessed using a web browser (such as firefox or explorer) on a phone, tablet or PC.

Standard Interface: No internet connectivity required NB: Internet connectivity will provide a slightly simpler initial setup routine, but this can be worked around. See instructions enclosed with the server. Advanced Users:JSON rest API to provide calls for all actions in the standard interface plus additional calls and ability to query the environmental, behaviour and energy data stored on the server.

If connected to the internet: • Over the air software updates • Option to provide some calls by email or SMS message • Additional cloud services for specific applications are available*

NB: The Halcyon system is a mesh that uses the individual nodes (lamps, sensors etc.) to extend it’s range – each one acting as a repeater. Thus the system range is not limited by the radio in the HalcyonPro Server.
