He Gave This Story

One match stick is worth less than a penny. A house could worth hundreds thousands or more dollars. But one match can destroy a house. The potential destructiveness can result from such an inexpensive item. If realized, the match stick can be very powerful, and hard to prevent.

To stack one million domino pieces, it takes over a month. To make them fall, it takes just minutes. To cumulate the business accomplishments, it takes decades. Yet, a single mistake can destroy it all.

To grow the respect from others, it takes a long time. To destroy this trust, it only takes one mistake.

What is this single match stick? There are four items:Cannot control own temperMaking decision without careful considerationStubbornSelfishness

Success of a company depend on where we are aiming

The setting of minimum requirements as our goals is a formula for failure

If we are to succeed, as individuals or a company, we need to set our sights higher than the "minimum requirements"

In order to achieve excellence, we need to take a more expansive view of their responsibilities

Discussion:How do we set our yearly goals? How do we review our career goals? How do we work with our management on the

organizational goals?

My Recommendations Maintain your health – so can do your best with the

energy and enthusiasm You cannot do it all alone – motivate and inspire others Continue to learn – advise from my mother’s nurse mom Manage the time well – we all got 1440 minutes per day,

not more and not lessPrioritize according to your short term, intermediate

and long term goals Someone famous in early US history said:

America is a country that looks forward, not backward. We build on our past successes, learn from our mistakes, and move forward fast and furious
