1. CPBACKUP&RESTORE1.1. A CP (Central Processor) backup consists (SYBUP) of:

- CP, RP, RPG/RPG2 and RPG3 software

- Data stored variables, i.e. exchange data

- CP reference store

1.2 System Functions, Backup Files

In order to verify the last CP backup and what date and time the different parts of the

system backup copy have been output, the exchange identity, from which medium the

information has been read, and the associated command log subfile(s)the command

SYBFP can be used.

1.3 Subsystem Backup Check

In order to verify the accuracy of a particular backup copy there is a function that reads

the subfiles, calculates a check sum and compares to the checksum stored on hard disk:

SYBCI.

1.4 Hanging Backup

If the backup would for some reason hang this is indicated by the system by an alarm

BACKUP INFORMATION FAULT . The supervision is active for both manual and

automatic CP backups - SYBHP;

1.5. CP Backup Transfer to/from APG40

  1 - CP dump can be loaded to the CPF

  2 - Load the CP from this backup

  To Put new Dump into the CPF and order a reload of the CP

  -  OPI: Function Change, Central and Inter-Platform Network software, Side

Switch Method, Change.

Note: Before the OPI can be performed the dump to be loaded must be located in CPF on

  APG40. Three main cases are considered in the

- OPI: CP File System, Transfer 

¨Dumpis located on DAT -tape

¨Dump is Located on computer¨Dump is already on the AP native system

¨  Dump is located  on  DAT-tape

If the dump is located on a DAT the  ntbackup  tool must be used to download the software

to AP native system. The partition G:\\Ftpvol  is the recommended destination.

- OPI :  AP, Removable Media, File, Copy 

¨ Dump is located on ComputerIf the dump is located on another computer the software must be downloaded to the AP using

FTP. It is also possible to map a drive towards the AP but the OPI describes how to get the file to

the AP using FTP.

- OPI :  AP, FTAMof FTP, File, Transfer 

When the dump already is on the native AP file system or after it has been transferred it will

consist of a directory containing the files R0   -R5. This directory must be imported to the CPF using the

commmand cpfport  .

When the new dump is located in the CPF the OPI : Function Change, Central and Inter-

Platform Network Software, Side Switch Method, Change can be followed . (See main steps in

APGO&M doc).

2.  APG40SYSTEM BACKUPRESTORERestore of the AP System is only possible if the backup has been performed previously. It is

important that valid backups exist for both Node A and Node B in order to restore the system. If the backup has an older or different version of the system, both nodes has to be restored even

though only one node is crashed.

- To perform a restore of the AP follow the OPI:  AP System Restore, Initiate

There are several ways to restore the node depending on which backup that shall be used.

¨ Restore from the most recent backup done

¨ Restore from backup on data disk

¨ Restore from backup on FTP

¨ Restore from backup DAT tape

If the restore shall be performed from the most recent backup done it is very simple; The

system is only configured to load from the backup partition, using command

BURRESTORE

3 APSYSTEMDISASTERRECOVERY

The AP SYSTEM DISASTER RECOVERY is a procedure to restor the system disks on one or both nodes in an APG40 Adjunct

Processor (AP) that is not possible to boot. Hardware related errors is not covered in this Operational Instruction. All steps

in the procedure must be performed on site.

Note: WARNING! AP, System Disaster Recovery is an extreme procedure and should only be used in extreme

situations.

To perform a restore of the AP follow the OPI: AP, System Disaster Recovery APG40C/4 Windows Server 

2003

The following conditions must apply before this procedure can be completed on the APG40.When the system disk on both nodes need to be restored:

 ¨A valid backup of the nodes available on the Local Craft Terminal (LCT).

 ¨ A valid backup of the node to be restored available on the APG.

 ¨A technician is available on site.

When at least one system disk is functional and the other node needs to be restored from the working node:

¨A valid backup of the node to be restored available on the APG.

¨A technician is available on site.

The following data should be known before starting this procedure.

When the system disk on each node needs to be restored:

¨The user name and password valid for a user with administrative rights on the LCT if the backup to be restored is located

on the LCT.

When at least one system disk is functional and the other node needs to be restored from the working node:

¨The user name and password valid for a user with administrative rights on the active node.

For more information about the LCT, see User Guide for LCT Access to APG40.

Special Aids

¨A VGA monitor

¨A keyboard with PS/2 or USB connector.

¨A mouse with PS/2 or USB connector.

¨An adapter to connect the keyboard and monitor to the same cable.

¨An LCT, if the backup to be restored is located on the LCT.

¨A cross connected Ethernet cable if the LCT is to be used.

4 APVIRUS

The following conditions must apply before this procedure can be completed:

AnAP VIRUS alarm is received.

The technician has ACSADMG authority.

For some activities administrator authority is needed.

The following special aid is required to complete this procedure:

The Graphical User Interface (GUI) Terminal Services is needed if the antivirus function could not cure the problem,when updating the antivirus signatures.

This Operational Instruction concerns alarm handling. This procedure describes the actions to take when anAP VIRUS

alarm is received.
