    Federal Ultra-Low Sulfur Content Requirements

In September 2006, new emissions standards went into efect in the United States mandating the use o ultra-low

sulur diesel (ULSD) or on-road use o diesel uel. Sulur has traditionally been added to diesel uel as a lubricity agent

(increases the uels lubrication properties). However, it is also a primary cause o air pollution and dirty emissions.

The move to lower sulur content is expected to substantially lower emissions o particulate matter rom diesel engines, lowering overall pollution levels. The EPA mandated the use o ULSD uel in model year 2007 and newer highway 1die-

    sel uel engines.

This new regulation applies to all diesel uel, diesel uel additives and distillate uels blended with diesel or on-road

use. As a uel additive that can be used in diesel engines, Xtreme Fuel Treatment alls within the scope o the new

regulation which afects the way we must label the product. As o June 1, 2006 all manuacturers and retailers were

required to label diesel uel and diesel uel additives with EPA-authorized language disclosing whether the product

complies or does not comply with the sulur content guidelines. Under the new regulations, the allowable sulur

content or ULSD is 15 parts per million (ppm). This is much lower than the previous standard or low sulur diesel (LSD)

at 500 ppm. The ormulation o Xtreme Fuel Treatment as it sits in the bottle contains 200 ppm o sulur. Thereore, in

order to meet regulatory requirements Syntek Global includes the ollowing in its label:

This diesel uel additive does not comply with ederal ultra-low sulur content requirements or use in model year 2007

    and newer diesel motor vehicles.

POINT: When Xtreme Fuel Treatment is added to diesel uel at the recommended concentrations

( to oz. o XFT to 20 gallons o uel) the ppm concentration alls substantially within the ederal ultralow

sulur content requirement o 15 ppm o sulur. Diesel engines made beore 2007 do not have ceramic injectors and

require more lubrication than later models. Xtreme Fuel Treatment should be used to protect and lubricate the uel

injectors in all types o diesel engines.
