Synopsys Corporate Marketing Project Summary During the Summer of 2016, I was employed full time as the Public Relations intern at Synopsys, Inc. and completed twenty projects in various fields including Public Relations, Internal Communications, and Marketing Communications. I was able to hone in on several different skills, mentioned below, and completed all proposed projects early or by the assigned deadline. Microsoft SharePoint: SharePoint is a platform that allows people to set-up web based collaboration tools to share content making document sharing seamlessly easy. Using SharePoint, I designed the look and feel of Synopsys’ Social Media Resource Center (SMRC) and created the content for the Synopsys SharePoint page as well. The SMRC provides employees with guidelines and best practices for sharing and posting on Synopsys’ various marketing channels. CisionPoint.Com: Cision is a web-based program that helps Public Relation teams monitor news coverage and analyze results. I used this software to create in-depth coverage reports on product announcements, coverage on Synopsys’ presence at trade-shows, and bi-weekly coverage on Synopsys’ security products. PR Newswire: PR Newswire is a platform that Synopsys uses for monitoring press releases, engaging with global target audiences, and hosting website pages. Using PR Newswire, I maintained Synopsys’ Speaking Calendar website page by updating it with current content and hyperlinks. I generated a coverage report on product press releases using PR Newswire, Excel, and PowerPoint to track metrics on social media and industry publications. Agility is a service within PR Newswire that Synopsys uses for news distribution. Using Agility, I formulated new editor contact lists and cross-checked current lists to ensure accuracy for press release distributions to editors. Other Public Relations Materials: Created the itinerary documents for the four-day Design Automation Conference trade-show including the Public Relations staffing schedule, general information, key messages, and cover sheet. Analyzed metrics on competitors’ press releases and created an easy-to-analyze template using Excel to compare the numbers by month, quarter, and fiscal year. Designed up-to-date editor profiles using new templates for future PR use.
