STUDENT SURVEY CONDUCTED
1. Student Survey:
With the approval of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Syndicators
Research Plans has conducted a survey within COMSATS. The survey was conducted
by visiting COMSATS and by asking the Comsians various questions regarding the
problems they face within the institution. The survey identified the following
Problems:
No availability of free rooms in case an instructor arranges a makeup lecture
within the Management Science Department
No availability of free laboratories in case students want to work for their
projects and assignments in the Computer Laboratories
No availability of Internet Facility most of the time, when the students have to
collect data from internet and email sources
No availability of Air Conditioners or they are not functioning during the
lectures
Lack of proper management of time for the students of morning programs
No availability of enough Photocopy Shops due to which mostly the only
existing two shops are seen crowded
Most Generators are seen silent even in the absence of electricity,
consequently, most of the students work remains pending
Continuously increase in the students of Management Science Department
creates problems for administration to step forward
Transport system have limited number of vehicles

The buses are not air-conditioned and the students have to bear the intensity of
heat even in summer season.
No availability of Multimedia and Projectors in most of the classrooms.
2. Analysis of Findings
The above findings should be properly analyzed in order to achieve the desired
results. For this purpose, the following analysis is made so that the Syndicators
Researches will be able to suggest and recommend proper solutions to the above
stated problems:
The rooms are physically visited during the working hours and it is found that
most of the rooms were busy and already reserved.
The Computer Laboratories are also physically visited during the working
hours and it is found that most of the computer laboratories were already
reserved or having lectures in them.
During the visit of Computer Laboratories, it is also found that there is not
internet facility available for students except in certain time limits.
The air-conditioners condition is truly not good. Most of the air-conditionersare not working or their supply was kept broken intentionally specifically in
the Management Science Department.
The morning program students are asked their timings of coming and going
out of the institution and it is found that the morning students are attending
lectures in evening time. So clearly, the mismanagement of time for morning
time students.
The photocopy shops are visited and it was seen that they are crowded with
students. By asking them for how long they are waiting in queue, it is
identified that they were standing for almost half an hour.
The generators are seen silent and the students have to attend lectures even in
such hot environment. This analysis was also made by physical visit of
classrooms.

The strength of Management Science Department was observed as huge, when
there was a time of short break outside the department. It is obviously difficult
to manage such a huge strength of students.
Transport system is consisting of only 11 vehicles among which 2 vehicles are
coasters and the remaining 9 are the 52 seated Hinopak. Whereas the number
of students are more than the seats available for students in the vehicles.
By having a journey through COMSATS vehicles Syndicators Researches
strongly observed the unbearable hot environment in the vehicles. Also a
number of students were observed standing in the vehicles because of limited
seats.
The number of routes run and maintained by COMSATS is not in every area
and location of the city. Most of the students are observed commenting on the
non-availability of vehicles on every route.
The physical visit by Syndicators Researches have found most of the
classrooms having no multimedia and projector facility. Even the existing
projectors are being removed and made the classrooms having no presentation
material.
3. Final Report:
The above stated problems and their analysis influenced us to make a complete and
reasonable report justifying the problems, solutions and suggestions for solving the
problems the institution facing regarding the dissatisfaction of students. This report
will hopefully solve the problems and make the Respected Director of COMSATS
Institute of Information Technology quickly respond against the situation. Some of
the suggestions and recommendations are given by the Syndicators Research Plans
here in the following:
3.1 Suggestions/Recommendations:
The department of Management Sciences should be expanded and more rooms
should be constructed immediately before further increase in the population of
Management Science Department.

With the expansion of Management Science Department, more computer
laboratories will be available for the students and consequently more students
will be able to use the computer laboratories.
The Networking system should be properly managed and supervised by the
competent authority and the person having authority to investigate the whole
system.
The Generators should be inspected, run and maintained by the complete
investigation and the students should be protected from the hot weather
conditions. This is important, because there is a possibility for students to have
medically unfitted for work.
The morning students must be dealt in morning time and evening students
must be dealt in evening time. Their timings should be managed properly and
should be inspected by the competent authority.
Air conditioning system should be checked carefully and their malfunctioning
should be removed by proper repair and maintenance work.
The admissions should be opened on annual bases rather than after a semester
ends. This system is followed by the Punjab University as well. This will
reduce the students ever increasing population within Management Science
Department and consequently will reduce the work pressure on administration
also. The management will become easy and the number of problems will also
decrease.
The air-conditioning system should also be installed in the vehicles. Because
the temperature within the vehicles is almost double than the classrooms. This
will protect students from medical problems and will make them satisfied by
the transport system.
The number of vehicles should be increased by more purchase of vehicles.
This will help to manage the increasing number of students and will also help
to start new routes which the students now are not accessing. This will also
reduce the average number of students going through one vehicle. Also, this
will promote the goodwill of the institution when a lot of vehicles of the
institution will be seen in various areas.

All the classrooms must have multimedia system and projector facilities,
because it is important for both the students and the instructors to have and
deliver lectures. Also, this will make students easily present the topics. The
instructors will also take benefit from such systems. The students will becomesatisfied from the classroom environment.
3.2 Conclusion:
On the bases of Student Survey, Syndicators Research Plans discovered the actual
drawbacks/problems. Syndicators Researches wandered about the situation and
found the results that even the team itself could not assume before the analysis. After
identifying the problems faced by Comsians, completely analyzing the problems
identified and at the end by preparing a report describing the complete analysis of
findings and suggestions/recommendations thereof, the team is feeling glad that it
focused on such points, which can improve COMSATS Institute of Information
Technology performance and help to achieve the desired outcomes/results. It is our
utmost desire to work for such institutions to help them achieve their goals and
targets. The institution should take into account the problems stated in this report and
should also try to manage the problems according to the suggestions and
recommendations given by the team. It is necessary for every organization to arrange
such surveys within the organization in order to improve the performance. We
recommend to again arrange such surveys whether from our team or the team which
can work better than us. We hope that these problems will be taken into account
seriously by the administration of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology
and being a member committee of this institution, we are also desirous about the
change to be taken within the institution.
