To improve cooperation with DFIs, IFC developed a Master

Cooperation Agreement (MCA) that streamlines how IFC works

MANAGED CO-LENDING PORTFOLIO PROGRAM

New product for passive investors looking to diversify

their portfolios and leverage IFC’s experience &

capabilities in originating & structuring emerging

market senior loans

Similar to an index fund, MCPP creates a loan portfolio

for investors that mimic IFC’s own future portfolio

Investors pledge capital to an IFC Trust Fund (or other

segregated account) which co-invests with IFC in new

loans across pre-agreed regions and sectors

MCPP and IFC senior loan investments are structured

with the same terms and conditions; Project appraisal,

approval, commitment, and supervision are fully

delegated to IFC

No upfront management fee; IFC fees retained on a

success basis from reflows on loans

The first MCPP investor, China’s PBOC, signed in

September 2013 with a pledge of US$3 billion
