Call for papers Contributions describing current work in all areas of experimental research and its applications in solid mechanics are welcomed. Topics of particular interest include: - conventional and advanced experimental methods in solid mechanics, - measuring techniques and modern devices, - data acquisition and data processing, - relations between experimental methods and numerical simulation, - hybrid methods, - applications. Authors intending to present a paper are requested to submit an extended abstract in English of no more than two, two-columned typewritten pages including tables and figures. The layout and typing instructions are given below. The following format should be kept: page size A4(21cm x 29.7mm), margins for the whole paper: 20 mm - left , right, bottom margin ,50 mm - top margin (1 th page) and 20 mm - top margin (2 nd page). Papers title should be written in Times New Roman 14 / bold / capital letters/centered. Authors names after a space line in Times New Roman 11 / bold / centered. Authors address incl. e-mail after a space line in Times New Roman 11/centered.After a space line again the paper itself should be written in Times New Roman 11/justified type. The Deadline for submitting the extended abstract is April 30, 2006. The extended abstract should be sent both in Word (*.doc) format to one of the following recipients: prof.     Honorary Members of International Scientific Board: HR Prof. Dr. Rudolf Beer (Vienna) Prof. Dr. István Huszár (Gődőllő) Scope of DAS 2006 The 23th Danubia-Adria Symposium on Experimental Methods in Solid Mechanics (DAS 2006) is aimed at providing a forum for engineers, researchers, university teachers and students, scientists and industrial experts to present and discuss the current status and impact of modern technology and development in the field of experimental methods in solid mechanics. Focus will be on recent research and development of experimental and hybrid methods for quality enhancing of structures, service life and technical safety. Symposium Venue and Hotel Accommodation The 23th Danubia-Adria Symposium will take place in Podbanské. Podbanské is mountain village (940 metres above sea-level), the gateway to the western part of the High Tatras, over-looked by the majestic Tatras peak named Kriváň (2494 metres). Rooms are available in hotels in Podbanské (Grand Hotel Permon and Hotel Kriváň) sensitively set in the natural scenery of the mighty Tatras forests.

    Registration Fees Full fee € 250 Reduced fee for students € 160 The symposium fee includes the symposium proceedings, welcome cocktail, refreshments during coffee breaks, 3 lunches, technical visit and symposium dinner. Accompanying persons € 160 The fee includes the tourist program for accompanying persons, coffee breaks, 3 lunches and symposium dinner.

    The authors of the accepted contributions are asked to deposit € 100 as an advanced payment not later than August 1, 2006. The remaining amount can be paid at the registration desk. All bank charges must be available at the DAS 2006 website. All abstracts of the accepted contributions for which the authors have made the advanced payment will be published in the Symposium Proceedings.
