Placement Record for Batch 2019 Our First Batch of 35 students has graduated in April 2019 and we have set an excellent placement record this academic year. Some key points are highlighted below: 87% students opted and got placed in top tier firms or corporate legal departments. Rs. 5.6 Lakhs per annum is the average salary for campus placements 2018-19. Students with prior and relevant experience during internships have received higher compensation. 28% students chose to pursue higher studies and secured admission in LL.M in top Universities in UK, USA, Australia etc. 20% students enrolled for litigation and are assisting Senior Counsel in various High Courts of the Country. Some students are also attempting Judicial Service Examinations aſter being trained for 2 years by our well qualified faculties through special lecture series for judicial aspirants. II. Placement Process Organizations that participate in the campus placement process are provided with the placement brochure that includes details of students. They are required to give a pre placement presentation about the organization, roles available and other details. Based on this interested students attend interviews with them. III. Placement Calendar Typically, the placement process starts in December and ends in May of each year. During this period there are specific placement weeks during which organizations are invited to be on campus. Organizations that may not be able to be on campus during the placement weeks are accommodated on mutually convenient days. IV. Mr. YashojitMitra, Partner, Cyril AmarchandMangaldasMr. Yashojit Mitra had come to our campus in January 2019 to address the students on ‘M&A Transactions-An Introduction’. The speaker introduced the students to the world of M&A. Various topics like the di�erent types of M&A, key drivers of M&A, life cycle of an M&A and the basic documentation required for an M&A were extensively dealt by the speaker.

Mr. Shreevardhan Sinha, Partner, Desai &DiwanjiMr. Shreevardhan Sinha visited the campusto address the students on ‘The Role of a Corporate Lawyer from Incubation to Establishment of a Firm-The Life Cycle of a Company’. The lecture witnessed the discussion and explanation of di�erent stages of a company and the type of investors holding a right in the company at various stages.

Mr. Lokesh Rajpal, Senior Legal Director, Flipkart IndiaMr. Lokesh Rajpal had visited our campus to address the students on ‘Overview of Internet Shopping and its Legal Implications in India’. The lecture dealt with internet shopping, the rules governing the shopping websites and the functioning of online shopping websites. The speaker threw light on the laws that govern the online stores, rules in refund, customer centric approach,

third party transfers, damages, compensation and other general rules of shopping which the students could easily relate to and understand as this is the emerging trend and many people shop online.

Mr. Pramod Rao, General Counsel, Citibank India, MumbaiMr. Pramod Rao addressed the students on ‘Overview of Legal & Regulatory Framework of the Indian Financial Services Sector’. The speaker dealt with the constituents of the Indian Housing Finance Sector and Indian Pension Sector; the activities of the National Housing Board, NABARD, Indian Insurance Sector and Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC). The di�erent types of

banks in India, their functions and RBI regulations were also discussed during the lecture.

Mr. Arvind Kishor, Associate Vice President-Legal, Accenture IndiaMr. Arvind Kishor had come to our campus on 9th September 2018 to address the students on ‘QuinueDoctrinaExculti’. The speaker chose to speak about his learning during his career so that students can learn the same and make use of them wherever required. The speaker dealt with the career ladder in a corporate sector, the di�erence between working in a corporate entity and a

law firm, the importance of interning under advocates, small size law firms etc.

II. Summer and Winter Internship

Industry-Institute Interaction during the Academic Year 2018-19

In legal field, practical training is a must for the students to learn the nuances of legal profession and hence students at SLS-H are exposed to industry along with classroom teaching through lectures by Industry Experts such as Corporate Professionals, General Counsels, Social Activists, Academicians, Advocates, and Judges. Apart from this, the students also undergo a mandatory internship assignment during their summer and winter break. The institute also arranges for industrial tours/field visits during the semester as part of the industry-institute interaction. A glimpse of many such activities conducted during the academic year 2018-19 is as follows:

Mr. GV Anand Bhushan, Senior Partner, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, ChennaiMr. Anand Bhushan had come to our campus in July, 2018 to address the students on ‘The Intersection of Law and Technology’. The speaker dealt the technology sector and the legal and regulatory concerns governing that sector. The lecture dealt with various aspects like composition of technology

sector, the recent technology disruptors and the industries that heavily rely on the Technology sector.

Ms. Persis Hodiwalla, Senior Legal Manager, Phantom Films Pvt Ltd., & Mr. Persie Jalgaonwala, Lighting Artist and VFX Consultant, PRIME FOCUSMs. Persis Hodiwalla and Mr. Persie Jalgaonwala had come to our campus on 28th and 29th July 2018 to address the students on Facets of Media and Entertainment Law. The lecture cum workshop was spread over a period of 2 days, wherein the process of contract dra�ing in the film industry, trademarks

in relation to movie titles and copyright law in the entertainment and media industry were extensively discussed.

III. Industrial/Field Tours

Industrial visits and field tours are of great importance for the students as it gives them an opportunity to peep into the real world and understand the proceedings from close quarters. During the academic year 2018-19, the students have visited High Courts, District Courts, Tribunals and Corporate Houses.

The students are also encouraged to attend seminars, workshops and conferences at both national and international level. This gives the students a wholesome experience as they get the opportunity to interact with legal professionals from across domains and from all over the world.

The students have also brought laurels to the institution by participating and winning at several Moot Court, Alternate Dispute Resolutions and Trial Advocacy Competitions at prestigious events across the country.

III. Industrial/Field Tours

Industrial visits and field tours are of great importance for the students as it gives them an opportunity to peep into the real world and understand the proceedings from close quarters. During the academic year 2018-19, the students have visited High Courts, District Courts, Tribunals and Corporate Houses.

The students are also encouraged to attend seminars, workshops and conferences at both national and international level. This gives the students a wholesome experience as they get the opportunity to interact with legal professionals from across domains and from all over the world.

The students have also brought laurels to the institution by participating and winning at several Moot Court, Alternate Dispute Resolutions and Trial Advocacy Competitions at prestigious events across the country.
