WHERE TO BEGIN?
Most of Sydneys must-do attractions
are located in and around its world-class
harbour. While Australias two most
identifiable icons Sydney Opera House
and Sydney Harbour Bridge are at Circular
Quay. From the Quay you can also catch a
ferry to Manly, Taronga Zoo or Luna Park.
Between the Quay and the Bridge is the
Rocks Precinct, Sydneys oldest European
settlement. The Rocks Discovery Museum is
a good place to learn more.
Darling Harbour, much younger than
the Rocks, is an entertainment and retail
quarter. Here you will find Cockle Bay Wharf
and Harbourside, both are excellent for their
range of cafes, bars, restaurants and retail
shops. South of Darling Harbour is Chinatown,
but just before that is the excellent Ming
Dynasty styled Chinese Garden of Friendship.
Chinatown also has excellent dining and
shopping options including Paddys Markets
open Wednesday to Sunday.
