HOME DELIVERED MEALS Contact : Jake Jacobs - Outreach Coordinator 513 686-1003 [email protected] Home-delivered meals offer many homebound older adults a sense of connection to the outside world. Meal deliverers check on the welfare of the homebound elderly and often become friends. They are trained to report any health or other problems they may notice during their visits. The program also works to improve the nutrition of homebound older adults. All meals provide at least one-third of the government's daily-recommended dietary allowances. Each year, Sycamore provides more than 72,000 meals to homebound older adults in our service area. Volunteers deliver these meals Monday through Friday and microwavable meals are available for the weekend.

If eligible, the price is on a donation basis. Private Pay clients pay $5 each meal. Clients have a choice in the meals they receive and on which days they receive them. If interested, or know someone who may benefit from these services, we encourage you to contact our Outreach Coordinator Jake Jacobs at 686-1003 to discuss your options.

TRANSPORTATION Contact: James Funk -Transportation Coordinator 513 686-1002 [email protected] Transportation ranks with Social Security and Medicare as a top issue of concern for older adults both locally and nationally. Whether it’s a trip to a local senior center for a meal and companionship, or a check-up at the doctor’s office, demand for transportation is high - and growing - among local seniors. Sycamore Senior Center works to ensure that seniors who need help with transportation can get it. We offer door-to-door Van Transportation to medical appointments for those over 60 who live in our service area. The service is provided on a donation basis for those who qualify. Private Pay options are available. Many members and clients use our Transportation Service for individual medical or therapy appointments and for regularly scheduled appointments, such as dialysis or physical therapy. We ask for a week’s notice for all appointments.

The Sycamore Shuttle service runs Monday through Friday to and from the Senior Center between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm $5.00 round trip is the suggested donation for the shuttle.
