1.0 SWORD TESTING & INSPECTION SERVICE

SAFER WIRELINE OPERATIONS RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT (SWORD) PTE LTD, Testing & Inspection Department was incorporated in Singapore with the aim of being a comprehensive service provider of Specialised Inspection to local and overseas Oil and Gas companies. Our services includes Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspection, OCTG Inspection, Lifting Equipment & Gear Inspection (LGI). We are providing timely and reliable services to the best of our abilities to all our customer. Our current focus is to provide quality NDT Inspection Services to cater to our clients’ needs and to help protect our clients’ assets through proper inspection.

It is the company policy to carry out quality and safety inspection, maintenance, Third Party Inspection Services and limited repair of Oilfield OCTG in accordance with the applicable API (American Petroleum Inspection), TH Hill DS-1, British Standards and Clients’ specifications Our goal is to actively improve our Quality Management System to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. 6.0 Tubing/Casing – Inspection

6.1 Standard Tubing/Casing Services

Visual Body Inspection A thorough Visual Inspection of possible noticeable external damages inflicted on the pipe is performed; most damages encountered arise from handling of the pipe, such as dents and mashes. Other types of flags will be external corrosion, laps and straightness. Visual Thread Inspection Both pin and box ends are thoroughly cleaned and visually evaluated for any damages such as dents, corrosion, galled threads etc. API Drifting (Full Length) A drift, cut to strict API specifications, is passed through the full length bore of each length of pipe in order to check for mashed or dented areas along the body. If an area has been located, the location of defect will be noted on the pipe as well as on the Inspection report.

6.2 Optional Tubing/Casing Inspection Services

Ultrasonic Wall Thickness (UT) Wall thickness is then verified by using ultrasonic readings to prove-up areas in question. API Thread Gauging Using various API gauges, such as thread taper, lead and depth, we are able to measure the connection in order to verify it is within API tolerances. Full Length Magnetic Particle Inspection (FLMPI) Utilising a Capacitive Discharge Unit, the tubular’s full body is magnetized. Longitudinal defects are identified by using dry iron powder sprinkled over the entire external surface of the pipe. 7.0 BHA – Inspection Service

Both pin and box ends are thoroughly cleaned and visually evaluated for any damages such as dents, corrosion, galled or pitted threads etc. Bottom Hole Assembly Inspections are normally carried out in accordance to the following standards:

(i) American Petroleum Institute (API) – RP 7G-2, ISO 1047-2, Spec 7 (API RP-7G)

(ii) TH Hill & Associates – DS-1 Category 1 to 5 (DS1 Cat 3-5)

(iii) OCTG - NS2

(iv) Customers’ specifications (Manufacturer’s Recommendation)

Ultrasonic Testing of End Area A shear wave ultrasonic inspection is performed on the upsets and friction welded areas of the drill pipe. This service is performed in order to locate fatigue cracks. Mill Slotting Mill slotting is performed by cutting a shallow, round or elongated slot into the body or tool joints of drill stem components. In order to cut into and along the pipe, a drill specifically designed for this use is utilised. Like the device used for hardness testing, the size and weight of the slotted machine allows our operators to go on-site and perform the job at the clients’ yard. Due to the nature of this service, client specifications are to be followed providing that it does not force the material to deviate from the API’s specification. 8.0 Handling Equipment Inspection

Drilling and Handling Equipment Inspection (ANSI/API-8B/ISO 13534-2000 Category 1 – 4 Standard)

Why inspect these tools? All the drilling and hoisting equipment with an existence of crack can indicate severe deterioration and impending failure. The detection, identification and evaluation required accurate inspection methods. Prompt attention is then required to remove the equipment from services immediately or to provide appropriate services and/or repair.

Caution shall be exercised due to the increased susceptibility to brittle fracture of many steels when operating at low temperatures. If any manufacture defects are discovered, they should be reported to the manufacturer or supplier immediately. Inspection Categories The objection of these inspections is to detect the service defects and possible hidden manufacturing defects. Inspection results shall be reported on equipment files and drawings. The inspection category shall be divided to Category 1 to 4 as per API Recommended Practice 8B/ISO 13534:2000 standard. 9.0 Lifting/Proof-Load Testing

Safe operating practices call for care and vigilance when operating heavy lift and pulling equipment.

• Regular inspection and certification on Cranes hoists, slings and shackles ensure the equipment in use satisfy the minimum requirements and standards for the industry.

• Operating personnel should undergo proper training to ensure they understand the importance of safe operating procedures.

SWORD Inspection team can inspect and certify various lifting equipment to be fit and safe for use in accordance with LEEA, LOLER, BS, API , DNV or other international standards. We are now in process to register as LEEA member (Lifting Equipment Engineers’ Association)

10.0 Non-Destructive Testing Services

Magnetic Particle Inspection This inspection is done in accordance with ASME Section V and its objective is to detect cracks or other discontinuities on near the surface of ferromagnetic materials. Dye Penetrant Inspection This inspection is done in accordance with ASME Section V Article 6 and involves visible solvent removable methods on near the surface non-porous metal.

Ultrasonic Inspection This inspection is done in accordance with ASME Section V. and its objective is to detect cracks or other discontinuities on near the surface and sub-surface of ferromagnetic materials. Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging This inspection is done in accordance with ASME Section V, using an A-Scan or digital thickness measurement equipment. The key objective is to identify any loss or reduction in material thickness which may or may not be detrimental to the integrity of the structure. Eddy Current Inspection This method is used to inspect through non-conductive coatings (less than 2mm thick) or on uncoated surfaces. And its objective is to detect cracks or other discontinuities on near the surface of ferromagnetic materials.
