Swisscom Broadcast builds, operates and maintains customised radio networks: for radio and TV broadcasting networks as well as security and company radio networks. At Swisscom Broadcast, we broadcast your radio and television signals locally, regionally or nationally. We bring sound and pictures to your customers – no matter where they are.

Terrestrial broadcasting of radio and tele-vision signals is part of our core business. We design and build tailor-made radio and television networks for our custom-ers. We edit the content of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR), of private TV and radio broadcasters and of event organisers, and send them to our transmitter sites. From there, we broad-cast them based on FM, DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting) or DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting – Terrestrial) in the area you want to serve. We also supply the entire Grisons area with radio and television programmes via the terrestrial Pay TV network, teleraetia.

Swisscom Broadcast provides you with over 450 transmitter sites for shared use throughout Switzerland. In terms of transmission, the sites are ideally located and have buildings and masts. You can therefore operate your equipment within the shortest period of time without the need to invest in your own infrastructure.

A reliable wireless network is the backbone of efficient communication and safeguards oper-ational processes – both in everyday life and in exceptional situations.

Based on your requirements we take care of the design, construction or upgrade of your wireless network. Our Network Management Center (NMC) is equipped to monitor all networks around the clock. With our nationwide, security-vetted operational processes, we ensure their operation and maintenance and guaran-tee that our specialists are quickly on site in the event of a fault.

On the safe sideThe POLYCOM police radio network lets police, army, fire and rescue services communicate securely and without interruption. We are a leader in the con-struction, operation and maintenance of POLYCOM networks for the Swiss Can-tonal Police and the Border Guard Corps.

Customers in the industry, energy, trans-port and event sectors benefit from our professional radio solutions. In one re-cent project we ensured that the forces at the Patrouille des Glaciers in the Valais Alps were able to communicate effect-ively at all times.

Our guided tours take you to the heart of a transmitter site. You find out first hand how analogue and digital radio and television make their way into your home or car. We show you what a direc-tional antenna is and how we use it to build and operate an independent, secure communication network.

Our guided tours take one hour. Most of our tours are wheelchair accessible and are suitable for children.

Special locations for special occasionsAt some locations, we offer meeting rooms for your business meeting or pri-vate event. They are equipped with a projector and flip chart and are situated up to 150 metres above the ground. Impress your guests with a breath- taking view.

With a height of 250 metres, our St. Chrischona broadcasting tower in Basel is one of Switzerland’s tallest build-ings. The breathtaking view from the meeting room at 150 metres is sure to turn every meeting into an unforgettable experience.

Located in the picturesque Gruyère dis-trict, Mont-Gibloux has impressive futur-istic architecture. On the way up, you can explore the Georama with its exhibition on the mysteries of the universe, earth and life.

Monte San Salvatore in Ticino also casts a spell on its visitors. The panoramic view from the broadcast tower stretches from Lake Lugano to the mountain ranges of the Swiss and Savoy Alps, all the way to the Po Valley.

With or without a guided tour – our transmitter sites on the Bantiger, Mont- Pèlerin, Säntis, Uetliberg and Rigi are always worth a visit. They offer you the most beautiful views of Switzerland. Let yourself be inspired by our webcams.

Having become the world’s first telecommunications company with a certified environmental management system in 1998, Swisscom is one of Swit-zerland’s most sustainable businesses today. We continuously set new, binding targets and keep people informed of our achievements.

Swisscom Broadcast helps Swisscom achieve its sustainability goals. 100% of the power requirements of our 450 broadcasting locations are covered by locally generated, renewable energy. We have also implemented an environ-mental management system and are ISO 14001 certified.

Broadcasting with solar powerIn locations with above-average sunlight levels – on the Niederhorn, for example – we even generate our own power. In Celerina, Valzeina and on the Uetliberg we also operate photovoltaic systems. We are planning to equip further loca-tions with solar panels.

Cooling with outside airWe already cool 50 transmitter sites with outside air instead of air-conditioning. Thanks to our ecological ventilation sys-tem (Mistral), we achieve annual energy savings that equate to the consumption of 400 average Swiss households. Our goal is to replace all air-conditioning systems with Mistral in the long term.

Our Customer Care Center (CCC) can be reached 24/7, 365 days a year, for enquiries, fault reports and orders. Our staff will deal with your query quickly and reliably.

The CCC works closely with our Network Management Center (NMC), which monitors the services at all transmitter sites around the clock. In the event of an alarm, the cause of the fault is deter-mined and rectified immediately.

We will inform you in good time about planned works or the condition of your programmes and services. We also set up and control the access permis-sions for all our locations.
