URBAN NATURE: BETWEEN HUMAN AND NON HUMAN SYMPOSIUM New York is at the forefront of an urban Green Revolution, and the emergence of public spaces like the High Line is emblematic of this transformation. Conversely, Zurich is witnessing the most rapid building boom in its history—and turning gray. What are the implications of these dynamics from design and historical perspectives? Explore new answers in these interdisciplinary panels, challenging notions of “urban” and “nature.” Photo: Christian Vogt

HOW IS THIS PROFESSOR FREUD, AND HOW DOES HE ACTUALLY BEHAVE? STAGED READING During a house cleaning in 1988, a historical and sensational diary was found, which gave new insight into Sigmund Freud’s working method. In 1921, young Zurich doctor Anna G. had been engaged to her fiance for seven years. She had ever-growing doubts about her future but could not find the strength to break off the engagement. In order to clarify matters, she turned to Freud, then 65 years old, who agreed to see her under the following conditions: she must visit him one hour a day, six days a week, for fourteen weeks. Swiss actors Graziella Rossi and Tom Regan vividly capture their fascinating sessions in this 45-minute staged reading. Image: Graziella Rossi.

Zurich-based choreographer Simone Aughterlony and Berlin-based performer Antonija Livingstone—who met while dancing with Meg Stuart's Damaged Goods—engage with the raw material of wood, axes, knives and fabrics to explore the multiple, malleable and mutable nature of bodies and pleasure. A fierce pink floor serves as the metaphorical insides of the body cavities, while the sound score, produced by three-time Bessie Award recipient Hahn Rowe, is a molecular landscape that generates hormonal shifts and fluctuations in temperature.
